Can't foresee quality getting better. Toyota is focusing on cranking out more Tacomas in Mexico and 2017's are still being shipped with the same issues as 2016.

It seems most folks join this forum because they are Toyota/Tacoma enthusiasts and tend to be more "pro Toyota" so it may not give a very accurate picture as to non-biased opinions on the truck's issues or quality problems. I'm willing to bet there are a large number of posters here (namely the ones who complain about those giving negative feedback on the truck) that would never admit to having issues or would downplay the issues they may experience on their own truck. It's the Kool-aid factor which I think is inherently high on a "fan forum" which this is. So issues that the general public have maybe actually worse than the sampling we see from polls conducted on a Tacoma enthusiast forum.

There are reasonable theoretical arguments to be made both ways (problems are over or under stated on TW). All involve a significant amount of unknowns. My point was that the poll methodology is not accurate. The error could be in either direction. Without a study using more valid methodology we are all just offering opinions and guesses. I suppose my main point would be that it is not very useful to have theoretical arguments over whether 10% or 70% of owners are still having issues as of today. I have always been a fan of sticking to what we know as opposed to what we can guess. When it comes to recommendations to potential buyers, I would say just what we know: some significant number of people are happy, some are still experiencing significant issues that often come with new models. While some issues have been resolved some appear to remain in at least some of the 2017 models. We have a pretty good description of what those issues are. We really can't give anyone odds on which category a particular new truck/owner will fall in. Take that information into account and make an informed decision.

You really believe all that about the Colorado? If so, you and the rest of the fan boys on this forum are the only ones because the GM Twins have beat the New Taco in every independent comparison test so far. So please get real and stop with all this macho Taco fanboyism!

Apparently the criteria used for the independent comparisons are not the same as the criteria most people use to choose a truck as evidenced by sales statistics. I wonder if Chevy would trade Toyota straight up... we'll give you our good reviews and you give us the top position in sales. Also betting that Honda would trade that top ranking they are sure to get in Consumer Reports and their 6000 units a month for the Tacoma's poor comparisons and 17,000 units a month.

Its like having a dating web site that ranks women as based on their SAT scores, personality, income, and looks and weighting all four equally. The Colorado guy brags about how his girlfriend with the top SAT scores and income but only average looks and personality has the highest ranking. The Tacoma guy with the hot girlfriend with a great personality and average intelligence and average income who scored lower really just doesn't care.

Absolutely, take advantage of the gullible males. It took the snake a nuanced and involved arguement to convince Eve to eat the apple. All she had to do was hand it to the man and say "eat this."

Don't try that when negotiating with Israelis. Just saying from experience. Just glad I was on their side of the deal.

Yes. Actually I do feel that way about the Colorado. I had a good buddy buy a 16 Z71 Colorado and you can not compare the two vehicles. For a z71 package, that pos couldn't fit a soda can under the front bumper. The Colorado stance looks like a girl face down ass up in bed waiting to get fu*cked. Interior plastics feel thin and creek when you press on them. Not a fan of the GUI of the display system for entertainment and so forth. I've driven both vehicles and in no way do I feel you can compare the two. Fanboy? Yeah I'm on a TACOMA forum..... That says enough. Why don't you trade in that 10 for a Colorado and join that forum. Your wasting space here.

I'd never buy a GM product, but I went and sat in a Colorado just to satisfy my curiosity. Didn't even need to test drive it, the interior alone was bad enough to make me not care.

The TRD Pro 4 Runner (stunning), is built in Japan, no?

I know my brothers TSX Wagon has been excellent (Japanese built), while his wife's TLX (Ohio built) has been horrendous.

Yes they are still built and majority sourced in japan.

The T4R was solid as fcuk. Everything about it. Window switches, door handles, door locks, mirrors, seals, transmission, glove box, seats, visors, every damn thing.

I just traded the 2nd T4R PRO for a 17 MDX and so far so good. The MDX better hold up as it is expensive as hell. SH-AWD, Tech, entertainment...

I bet the MDX rides like a Rolls compared to the T4R.

I LOVE how the new 4Runner you can get two different face. The angry Trail/Pro face for the rest of us, and the limited chrome face for all the Korean women in LA.
