2014 JBL/Nav Entune Unit Locks Up - Then Restarts?

On long drives, my stereo/nav unit will lock up and the controls are non-responsive. Then after a few minutes, the unit will restart on its own and start working again. Any suggestions? Is there an update that may fix it? Thanks.

 

I had the same thing happen when I first bought my '13. There were times it seemed to go haywire. Haven't had any problems since then, though.

 

Happen to me twice in the last few weeks. Looks like time to boot it.

 

I have a 2015 limited entune nav jbl same thing it locks up then its fine for several weeks I turn the truck off and it reboots.......

 

It sucks paying that much for something that is a POS. It doesn't even understand my voice, even with the "calibration".

 

Hmmmm, I noticed the other day on a trip that mine rebooted for no reason. Happened a couple times. Don't know if it locked up because I wasn't pushing buttons.

 

So weird. I went on a 800 mile trip and I've been back for a few days and now my 2014 jbl/ entune unit is doing the same thing you described. It's really weird never had issues before and had been on long trips prior.

 

My Entine w nav has been doing this lately too. Anyone figured it out? Maybe a software update we can do?

 

Non JBL Nav has restarted while driving twice in the last two months. These units are pieces of shit, but at least it doesn't devalue the vehicle when its time to sell.

 

Here is a TSB someone shared on my thread (same topic) started in the audio forum category. Sounds like it may be the fix. Not sure I want to spend $100 experimenting at the dealer.

 

Thanks for that. I called a dealer and they said bring it in for 1-1.5 hrs so they can update the software...gotta love that.

Yours can't be that far out of warranty - have you asked your dealer about it? Just bat your eyes and smile real pretty, maybe they'll do it anyway.

 

my Entune with no navi froze and few minutes later rebooted itself today. Was just listening to the radio and when i went to change stations it was frozen. 2015 SR5 DDLB 4x4.

 

I ran the latest Entune software update today hoping it would resolve the issue. No dice, still froze & restarted a few minutes later.

I also called the Toyota support line, Entune extension. They would offer absolutely NO help or options other than telling me to go to my dealer.

Looks like we'll have to visit a dealer for the firmware update.

 

If you knew me, that won't work! LOL
