I love the Ridgeline. In fact if Toyota continues to drop the ball on issues, I will buy a Ridgeline. We already went from two RAV 4s for the wife to the much better CRV, What I like about the Ridgeline is what others dislike. A pick up truck with a usable bed that rides like an SUV. Unibody is fine and probably rides better and is quieter than a body on frame Tacoma

I don't wheel or go mudding. So I won't be missing anything if I made the switch.

IMO Toyota has gotten lazy and complacent living on their excellent reliability, HAd issue with the RAV 4 with the excuse "they all burn a quart of oil in 1000 miles"....."Normal"... CRV does not use a drop after 1000 miles.

Don't get me wrong I love my truck and the deal I was able to pull off. but I am not as loyal to Toyota as I was.

The Tacoma is just a BETTER looking truck. I'm not sure what the hell Honda was shooting for!!! It looks like the engineers started designing a minivan and then management peeped their heads into the shop and said,"Bob, you guys obviously didn't read your emails. The new model is suppose to be a truck." Then Bob said, "Team let's not start from scratch, just begin the truck design at the point we're at now." Then Phil said, "F-it man I'm going to lunch! This is some bullshit right here!!! I shoulda took Toyota's offer out Engineering School!"

Feel free to add to the story!!!

Anything below 24,000 lbs GVW is a pick up. It's just a different take on the pickup theme, and a better one for my usages.

I beat smitty99 to the punch

True story.... I had a yangster (Toyota TC) aggressively pass (4 lane, 35 MPH street) me when coming up to a clover leaf HWY (70 MPH) onramp this evening coming home from work. He didn't want to be stuck behind a slow ass pick-up on the ramp. After he cut me off just before the merge lane with about 3 car lengths between us and he was rollin'. I rolled into the corner, let the body settle over while accelerating until the tires where protesting, caught him and backed off a bit about half way around the leaf. He tried to go faster but he started to push wide (understeer) while my AWD/coil spring/torque vectoring POS was holding steady and on his ass. I hope he saw me giving him the bird with a big smile on my face in his rearview mirror thru my windshield when we where merging onto the HWY. No way I could do that in the Taco.

They both have their strong points plus I can still tow my camper!!

BTW: I showed 28.5 mpg on my way to work this morning. 30 mi. all HWY.

Tacoma is 1st in offroad, 1st in resale, 1st in reliability, best looking truck imo. Those matters to me more than power seats. Although I do agree it's a bit slow off the start but on the hwy, plenty of pep.

If that isn't an obvious indicator of the validity of that comparison, I'm not sure what is. The ridgeline isn't even body on frame. Totally apples to oranges.

I know we like to get onto others, but do be thankful you've not developed asthma. It can (and does) pop up later in life too, even among active otherwise healthy people.

Years ago, I did look into a 2014 Frontier Pro 4x Frontier DCSB 4x4 manual, I think new was $27k? Cheaper than Tacoma DCSB 4x4 SR5. Pro 4x comes with off road suspension and diff lock similar to TRD OR.

However, I looked at a couple Frontiers and pro 4x, even with low 20K miles, every one of them have leaking diff, and tailgate hard to shut. Brakes are poor and handling was mediocre. Every frontier drove a bit different.

I drove several Tacomas, it drives better imo, brakes feel better, looks better. Although Toyota prices are overrated.

Not to defend the Frontiers, but do remember you were looking at the ones someone wanted to get rid of with relatively few miles. If I had a truck with a leaky diff and binding tailgate I'd probably get rid of it too! :D

Look at the fucking testing points. It's basically a spec list with a 0-60 test. With someone who apparently can't drive. I have no problem with whatever test someone wants to listen to. But it's irrelevant in the grand scheme of how the trucks are on a daily basis, intangibles, and long term.

Ive always been a spec guy. GM, Ford, etc play that spec game big time. I bought a Cobalt SS Turbo over a wrx because of the spec game and cost. I learned my lesson. Everyone buys a Tacoma for a reason. The people have spoken.

Tires are probably one of the most commonly replaced things on a truck. Not to mention they are a general wear item. I don't understand why these guys complain about tires so much. Why not just put the same tire on all the trucks? Then the review would be based on the mechanical aspects of the trucks and not a freakin' tire.

I can care less what my truck does in a 0-60 test. I didn't buy it to take it to the drag strip.
