Surprised that the OR is almost 5% better value holding in 3 years than the pro...

It wasn't for me. Putting money down just lowered the payment not the residuals. On a 2017 about $25600. varies between 70-74%

Why? Most of the markup of the pro will be eaten once the market is saturated with them next year or the year after, and the or's start rolling back into lots already mostly upgraded to near-pro levels, but 10k cheaper.

Given they aren't making that many, I didn't see them being saturating the market.....

Not this year. Next year? The year after? I think they're going to start running out of people to spend the extra dough for a small bump in features. And the used market for them will saturate even faster. "oh, these upgraded shocks will soon need replacing at a cost of only $2000? No thanks... I'll get the or over there that also needs new shocks, but is 10k cheaper, and do the same thing". Much easier to be able to sell it as 3-5k more (by lowering the residual).

Maybe it only makes sense to me, but I totally understand lower residuals on the pros. I would be shocked if the market doesn't go that way as well.

How have the 2nd gen PRO held up in value (I don't know, thus asking)?

If you are not familiar with leases, if you drive more than 12,000 miles a year (typical lease mileage), if you tend to keep vehicles for a long time, if you don't take good care of your vehicle...maybe you shouldn't lease. I've been leasing for over 20 years, never been burned. Actually, on my last Jeep Wrangler I made over a $10,000 profit. Remember that you can always buy your lease at anytime.

Residual was very high, like 79%. I wont have equity in it if i decide to sell it before the lease ends.

Yep. There are a lot of misconceptions about leasing. Most folks assume you're just 'renting' the car.

    Not true at all...

You're buying the car... With a future-dated preapproved conditional buyout already negotiated.

Anyone lease a 2017 Tacoma that can post their residual and money factor? I asked the finance guy at the dealer I ordered my truck and I'm getting the runaround from him. I know these numbers are posted periodically by Toyota Financial. Anyone know where I can get these? I want to go in armed with this info. Thanks.

Is the residual factor based off MSRP?

Im tempted to sell my truck and lease a new one, but to spend 38k for a new 4x4 is crazy.

Also I remember reading before MSD's you get back. Would you get this back in the case of a total? Is it not the same as a deposit? Thanks. (sorry to thread jack)
