I think all of us are supposed to be there at noon to takeover from the early shift. 6 of us that I know of. I hope I get to run the cash box, way better than running the fryer or flipping burgers which is what I did last year. Of course I worked Saturday afternoon which is way busier than Sunday afternoon.

We usually camp there Friday and Saturday and let me tell you, it's quite a party if anyone is interested! Good times.

I really didn't need that image popping up in the thread title here at work. :)

Anybody use Wheeler's HD 5-leaf spring packs? I'm looking into them as an option. I tow a hefty camper but I also want to lift the truck 2-3".

    Hahaha. Sorry about that!

IDK about those but I suppose they should work. Why not just go with the tried and tested Dakar springs? That's what I would recommend

Dakar's are great but not for load carrying! Most everyone that runs those with weight end up with the AAL....

I run the Wheelers 5 Leaf pack and they've been awesome for carrying big loads... get some SuperBumps or the more expensive Timbren's and you'll be golden

I wouldn't say that. Not at all. Ton's people that are carrying weight and want a 2/3 inch lift upgrade to the Dakar's because of their weight carrying ability. The only time I see someone that want's to add the AAL to them are the one's that carry a lot more weight and go out wheeling with their rig's fully loaded with shackle flips, shock relocate, etc.

Sorry, but there's no way in hell Dakar's are known for lovin big loads ;) When I see a leaf pack with like 8 leafs, that tells me that it loves going down washboard roads at speed, thats what they designed these big leaf packs for, racing in the desert. I'm not crapping on the Dakar's but I just think theres better options for load carrying and lift, specially with a hard shell and hauling a hefty camper

I have the General HDs, which are pretty similar to those with one less leaf. I got 1-3/4" unloaded over my factory 3-leaf packs. Drops about 2" with 1000 lbs evenly distributed throughout the bed.

I'd suspect those would be slightly higher/drop slightly less with load.

No, they don't. It's largely for the Canadian truckers and tourists. The Plattsburgh natives speak English and are generally very friendly.

I am still not going to agree with you on this at all. Are you sure you are talking about the correct leaf pack??? Dakars are KNOWN for carrying weight. That's all they do over in Australia is load up vehicles and go out wheeling in the bush. They only have 4 or 5 arched springs, plus I have NEVER seen a high speed pack that has not only 1 but 2 overload springs on them! People that do high speed stuff do not get Dakars at all they usually get Deavers. Maybe you were getting them mixed up???

    Dakars look like this
    [IMG]

Deavers = high speed for days. They have 8 - 10 leafs and look like this
    upload_2016-9-20_16-18-8.jpg

X2. Never heard anyone from there speak French. Go over the line there and it's you went into a whole new country or something. Lol

All I know is so far I love my Dakars but I have not trailered with them. I do have a Cap though. And I am going to be buying a Travel Trailer at some point.

Somehow a set of timbrens for a 2nd gen ended up in the bed of my truck speaking of them. Haven't decided to keep them or not.
