The diffused lens throws a larger area of light because the beam is scattered.

What would be better for the back of the truck mounted on a rack for both camp lighting, reverse lights, and throw and amber cover on them for dusty situations? Flood or Diffused?

What would be better for mounting on the rack for side lighting? Flood or Diffused?

So question. I'm looking for LED lights to use for driving at night with red covers at my deer lease. I'm guessing the driving pods. I just want to make sure I get the correct ones.

Diffused light is definitely better for "scene" lighting like lighting up a campground. Spot lights will give you a very bright small area with some additional bleed over, but mainly centered in one area. Diffused gives you a nice all over throw without one specific "hot" spot in the middle. Diffused will not throw as far as spot will though.

Simply put, diffused would be best for lighting a campground and reverse lights. I have spots now for reverse lights, and I wish I'd gone with diffused. Unless you need to see 100 feet behind you when reversing, go with diffused for better close range coverage.

If I'm reading the price list correctly, diffused pods are only available in 40W? Just looking for reverse flush mount pods for rear bumper.

I was thinking about the diffused lights for ditch lights. What are the dimensions of these? The pictures show what looks like a 4 LED POD, diffused. But my understanding of LED lighting, to get 40watts you'd have to have something like 10 LED's not 4. Can I get someone unconfuse me, and clarify this?

I'm interested in a 20" double stack light, but I'm unsure how this works. Is it possible to build the light bar so that the LED's in the center are driving beams and the LED's on the sides are flood?

    Check out the build
    That is exactly right.

Spot is a tight focused beam for illuminating distance not area. Best for aux drive lighting.

Flood is a wider beam with more width than spot, but not the distance. Excellent for ditch lights and low watt fog lights.

Diffused is a wide beam with out a hot spot. Great for backup lights and camp lighting.

Yes, diffused does such a wide light disbursement that you need the higher power ones to really take advantage of the lense.

They have 4, 10w CREE LEDs. These are all high performance LED chips. The PODs have 3w, 5w, and 10w chips. The light bars are all 5w.

I can only do what's listed now. Maybe I can do all flood or all spot where it says combo, but I'll have to check.

    Keep the questions coming!

Maybe I misunderstood what you meant by 'combo'.. can you elaborate what makes the bar a 'Combo'? To me it sounds like a combination of different types of light output.
