Holy shit...with oem parts for one side (140), I found a locally highly recommended shop( been in business for 50+ years. That charges 45 to press out the old and press in the new...fucking stealerships. Are you sure that wasn't the price for taking the entire truck to them and making the take off the spindles etc. I'm only bring the shop my spindle.

Weird I just replied to his. I have a local shop doing it for $45 to press out the old and press in the new. My parts were 140. So 185 total.

Replaced my supercharger oil that had unknown miles on it with GM 12345982 4oz. Steps...

    1. Parked truck on a downgradient to move oil frontward.
    2. 3/16 hex to remove front bolt on the GEN II S/C.
    3. Used a syringe with flex tubing I got off Amazon ($7) to suck out the old oil. Original Oil reeked and was black in color (new oil is clear/yellow).
    4. Cleaned syringe and replaced tubing.
    5. Injected the new oil back in. Closed it back up.
No more rattle at idle. Could be a placebo, but the truck also feels/sounds much improved.

Yeah man spindles and rears off the truck and taken too them. Both are way overpriced. Whats funny is i called for the 4Runner one day... and about the Taco another day and got 2 different prices from each. and last time i check these parts are almost identical.

Loss of steering is a scary thing. Popping noises inside the rack cant be a good thing...
