I kid. Honestly the 3rd gen brought in an influx of new people and things changed. Sadly it's effected the BS threads and random ones like this too.

 

Sadly its tough to avoid a lot of the crap when the 'New Posts' sub forum is inundated with third gen threads. I actually try to stay away from it as best I can.

I predict Vancouver will finish below AZ in the Pacific.

 

Ask any NHL player if they'd rather have their name on the cup or a gold medal and I'm willing to bet they care more about the cup.

For Europeans though I think you'd be surprised at a few answers.

 

Hmm, I wouldn't count on that. The Leafs are stronger in goal, stronger on D, and weaker at F. Plus the Leafs have Babcock and that's a big factor. I wouldn't be surprised if the Leafs end up scaring a few teams throughout the year. I see them finishing somewhere around 10-11 in the east.

 

True, for those playing in this tournament or the olymipics it's a big deal. But for NHL players, the cup is bigger.

 

Again I never said anything to the contrary. The cool part is that the Cup and the Olympics don't occur at the same time of year and I doubt teams will suspend any player that's good enough to play Olympic hockey right before the Cup run... food for thought. I doubt many Canadians would pull that trick since they already have their medals but I'd be willing to bet more than a few Russian and European players will. Even a few Canadians will. What's to stop them? Two weeks of salary? Ha.
