I have a 2005 Tacoma it has a 3inch leveling kit on it. My question is. If I change my shocks to bilstein 5100 and adjust them to the highest setting will that give me more wheel travel or shock travel? If that's the right way to say it. First truck.

Called around and done research online and can't find and shocks and struts for my 2016 tacoma. I don't really want a lift and 4 Wheel Parts says for me to wait for Bilstein to make ones for the 2016,

Does anyone know anyone that work?

Hey guys do y'all happen to know the stock front ride height? (Bottom of fender to center of wheel hub.) I have a 2005 TRD off road access cab and just installed the boss lift and need the stock measurements to adjust accordingly. Thanks for the help.

Looking to put icon stage 2 lift kit on a 16 DCSB OR. Got a price around $2600 installed through the dealer at the reputable off road box store. I will probably leave the stock tires/rims for now and thinking 285/75/16 on the stock rims in the future. Anyone run the 285/75/16 tires on the stock rims (16x7 I think... Not sure of back space)? Any issues or tips with this setup?

anything up to 285/75/r16. you will rub when you turn the steering wheel. You will have to do a cab mount chop or buy other wheels with good backspacing/offset and even then you might rub a little. Wheel spacers are recommended too.

honestly I would go with 255/85r16

they are 33 inches tall but only 10-10.5 inches wide. You won't lose as much power compared to 285/75

So I've been reading and looking for a few months now and I'm the type that reads till my eyes bleed, So I'm just going to ask what I need for what I do with my truck. I have a '13 SR5 4x4 DCSB, I'm looking to fit 285/55R16 or 17's(still need help deciding, Steel or Alloy). I use my truck for a truck(Yes no mall cruising!) I haul and load my bed all the time so what would be my best option for a good lift that wont break me completely but is still a reliable kit. This was the other day with 800lb in the bed, yes I have sumosprings already installed.

Agreed, my eyes are bleeding and my brain hurts from all of the information on this site. It's great information and I appreciate all of the input, but my brain can't wrap around all of it and I'm hoping for a much more simplified response. Fingers crossed.....
I have a 2002 4WD SR5 Access Cab Off road package with 136K miles on it. the suspension needs an upgrade. I'm not really looking to do much off-roading, except for camping and some snow here in Bend in the winters. I don't really want much of a lift, maybe 1" but I wonder if i'll be getting that by just replacing worn out shocks all the way around. My other question is what other things should I be replacing that is related, (bushings etc) while i'm doing all of this? The common theme here is Billstein 5100's all the way around. But I'm wondering if I should replace the coils as well, (suggested options?) in addition to a new leaf pack for the rear? I do have a camper shell on the back, but again, not looking for a huge lift.

I've read through a lot of these threads and most of it is like reading greek, even after trying to decipher the tutorial for those of us not well versed in suspension modifications. Thanks in advance, any advice is appreciated.

I'm looking to add 5100s to my 2004 Double Cab on front. It has 106k miles. Will the stock coils be fine or should I replace them too? And what should I set the 5100s at

Not looking for an extreme lift just 1-2" at most.

Couple questions I can't seem to find the answer to: http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...oss-Suspension-System-for-05-Tacoma_p_15.html
1.)I know if you plan on installing a front bumper and wench (which I do) you'll need 886 coils (quick new guy question: coils and springs are the same correct? I know what coilovers are but a coil is just a spring right, or is it just short for coilover?). This only offers 600lb and 650lbs front coils. I don't really know what that means but would the 650lb be like 886's and sufficient for my offloading and wench/bumper I plan to install?
2.) Is this a good suspension lift for me? Anyone have experience with this suspension lift? I plan on overlanding offroad but it'll still be my only vehicle so a daily driver as well.

    1. Coils and springs are the same thing. If you're putting a bumper and winch on, you'll want the 650lb coils on the front. (Yep, that's basically like 886's)
    2. Yes, the BOSS lift is a good lift. There are cheaper ways to go (essentially where you build the coilover yourself/have a shop do it - usually with some 5100's and something like 885/886 coils), and there are more expensive coilovers (Fox, Icons, remote reservoir, etc). But, the BOSS kit is pretty nice. I have BOSS coilovers on my Gen1 and love them. In the back, I went with an AAL and some Monroe MA820 air shocks (Not sure if these are the right fit for a second gen) which give more load-carrying capacity than just the AAL in the BOSS kit.

"Bilstien 5100's This is a great affordable lift kit. These replacement shocks are great to add a few inches to the front of your Tacoma, it is adjustable and have a slightly better valving system than the stock shocks that come with the Tacoma's. (But please take note NO One recommends it to be used in conjunction with after market coils) This may result in damage of your suspension components."

This? Is that true?! I know head strong sells Bilstiens with OME coils. Will that damage my suspension components?

There are alot of members running 5100+OME coils with no issues. What you don't want to do is preload the 5100's with aftermarket coils\springs. That's not recommended.

Hey guys, just got my 2016 TRDOF DC and I'm really new to this lift talk. Was originally thinking of keeping the stock suspension and just throwing some TRD rims and KO2's on it, but after seeing how great yall's rides look, I changed my mind. I really want a 3in lift but don't want to break the bank in the process. From what I read on here, Bilstein 5100 adjustable all around seem to be a great affordable lift, and that's what I'm leaning towards. Question is if I would need to buy anything else other than the 5100's all around to get my truck lifted. Thanks in advance and sorry for the rookie talk!

https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/headstrong-off-road.193/ this might be the kit for you. OME 2885's + spacer, LR UCA, and AAL of your choice.
