Let's add some actual data. Unless you've got something like this, your anecdotal information doesn't really mean much.

I will agree that the data presentation on Fuelly is terrible. I've emailed them about it and their response was that they were busy working on other products. Thanks guys.

This chart represents 45 fuel-ups and the marker is on the first tank post-TSB. The high and low outliers are from mountain and 4x4 trips but I think we could say there is evidence to support a 0.5mpg increase during the stable periods. Temperature plays an important roll, especially on shorter trips because it takes longer for the truck to warm up. For a full comparison, I'd need to have more data.

It is my belief that the TSB doesn't give you better gas mileage, but it does make it easier to drive smoothly. However, the extra power that you now have early in the throttle travel could easily cause worse mileage in-town if you aren't careful. Having a usable cruise-control also helps (me anyway).

If you follow the link to Fuelly in my sig you can look at the data, including notes on how most tanks were used.upload_2016-9-20_20-30-41.jpg

I have had my TRDOR v6 for 6 months, stock tires, no lift and factory tonneau. It is my experience that I get .5 to .7 better mpg's calculating fuel manually (the only accurate way) than my truck calculates on its own.

I'm sitting about the same, maybe just a hair more. Between 22-26 mpg.
People that complain, if you'd adjust your driving habits your mpg will go up. Switch to "current fuel economy screen" and keep the bar I've the half way point and that's at least 15.
I like the people that compare this truck to the previous rig they had. Every truck is different. Can't drive them all the same. Are people to dumb to realise that?

I've seen an improvement as well.

18.5 before the tsb. Now I get 19.5. I'd say this is 75% city 25% highway.

I had a tank get 20.4 when I was driving mostly back roads/highways going to a hiking spot.

I found I get better fuel economy if I *don't* look at that screen.

I picked up a solid 3mpg in the city and live at a 4600' elevation to boot. Went from 15.5 mpg to 18.5mpg. Another trick I do is get up to cruising speed, let off the accelerator briefly and then gently apply throttle to maintain speed. I usually pick up 2-3 mpg using this method.

    I also agree with this:

"It is my belief that the TSB doesn't give you better gas mileage, but it does make it easier to drive smoothly"

Oh I don't look at the screen either. But people bitch and they have a tool there that they can watch and adjust how they drive accordingly

I'm seeing 18 mpg combined (19k on the odo) with 265 KO2 E-rated (lead balloons) w/ no air damn. Still on my first tank since the TSB.

City driving will be more in the 18-20 range with Hwy between 14-18 depending on geography.

    Truck feels amazing.

Just took my truck in for 5,000 service and had the software update done today. I did notice on my paperwork there was a tranny concern listed and I'm wondering if that's not the issue with trucks being sold with low tranny fluid. Anyone have any insight?

image.jpg I'm not post TSB. My transition never had any symptoms and has always been fine. But after about 12,000 miles my mpgs really started to improve. I'm at 16,500 now and I drive 40% in town and 60% freeway. I don't speed and I drive like there's an egg between my foot and the throttle. That being said I used to drive the same in my 01 2.7 4x4 5 speed and could never beat 23 mpg. I'm pretty impressed with the new 3.5. I also do the math at the pump because I don't trust the computer and it's never off by more then 1/10th of a mile.

Between 22.5 and 24 on almost every tank. Average north of 23. Worst tank was around 20.5, with most of tank used in the mountains, with about 25% in 4 wheel drive.

17mpg average. No gain or loss. Only 5,400 miles on the truck, 1.5" lift and Cooper ST/Maxx tires.

Highway mpg sucks for me, but the posted limit is 80mph. This truck chews through gas at speeds in excess of 65mph.

I'm right around 21.5-22 mpg and hasn't changed after the TSB was performed. But the drive sure did and I didn't think it was that bad before. Still lovin my truck.
