What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Not trying to be nit picky, but I am a machinist and this is the correct way to describe the thickness of the shims for the rear end, .078 and .016.

 

Never thought about it, but when I see it that way, I should have known with all the math I helped my kids do for there homework over the years! Lol. Thanks for that!

according to his FB post I believe there was a pinion issue that they found it disconnecting and they sent it back to Toyota for review as it kept failing...

 

I painted the dash bezel ring to flat black. I couldn't get into the red. It did match the stitching in the seats but I plan on getting Katskin leather so it doesn't matter.

 

Fortunately I have a friend with a Delorean who could help take delivery.

 

@djarmag @2016 Tacoma SR I'm jealous! I would have loved those instead of the black T-Force wheels -____- don't get me wrong they're nice and all but not to my liking..maybe when I run my tires down I'll change over to those wheels! Would love them!

They got the 4Runner looking decent but still had a lot of problems I didn't want to deal with after the repairs, so traded into this.

First thing on list is tires!

 

3rd Gen diff howl. Diff fluid was changed. No help. Diff carrier and all internals attached to it, gasket, and fluid were replaced. It's quiet now. We'll see

 

Update on Bushwacker fenders scratching body paint. Here is their reply...


Buyer Beware!! Really sucks they don't design it better to minimize movement. OEM fenders had double sided tape along entire edge. I would really think twice about purchasing the Pocket fenders. Here is pic again of what is happening to mine.

Update on my regear, the owner of the shop called me said he drove it this morning and it ran fine but there is a light 2 wheel drive 4 wheel drive keeps coming on or something like that. They have to troubleshoot now. Figures.

 

Just got my truck back from the shop.. several items added including on board air & RK Sport Hood
