I went on a off road trail in my LX570 with some Land Cruiser guys. One 200 series LC owner, got a flat, and didn't know how to change a tire. I changed his tire, with sweat running down my cleavage while he played with his iPhone....

Well I hope you got some decent coin after acquiring his man card. I would of told him a man card is required to wheel.

He was giving me crap about my "prissy Lexus" going on the trail.... except he was the one losing his man card by mid trail. By end of the trail, a friend had to drive his back, at that point he was nothing more than a Jeep owning she-male.

Never came on an offload trail after that.

Interesting to hear he started out as a man before the trail and evolved into a bia after. He earned that ride of shame like a boss.

I hope new "man" regulations were made after that trail ride.

I don't think anyone of us said the Ridgeline is a piece of junk. I'm sure it's a great vehicle. I just don't want a FWD vehicle with a front end that makes me throw up in my mouth. IMO the front of the Rigdeline looks...feminine. Why did the designer of Honda think the front end looks good unless they're aiming for more female truck divers, again just my opinion.

I think the average Accord owner, or Odyssey owner who wants a truck in the house, wants "Honda quality/engineering/resale/relaiblity" over looks. Most Ridgelines I see in driveways, have other Honda products. ..

I think what cosmetically doesn't work for me with the ridge line is the same as you said. It has that "I wish I was a civic" face with a truck body. The body sizing of the ridgeline seems slightly out of portion from the windows to the bed size, but that is just my opinion.

I think above all, the Tacoma just looks hungry to see some dirt while the ridgeline looks eager to scoop up groceries.

The reason the Ridgeline looks that way is because Honda didn't want to spend the money making a different front end for the Ridgeline. Also the reason for using a unibody and a front wheel drive based Truck. It saved them money in research and development costs. Still they are charging alot of money for the Ridgeline.

Well shit if that is the case, why invest in a truck that wasn't invested in for you?

I am disappointed in Honda on the styling and the fwd part. Woulda been good competition against Toyota and maybe Toyota would of step it up a little more.

I can believe that, a lot of manufacturers always try to cut cost.

You got a point there...competition can make for a better product.

While Honda currently has unspecified “modest (sales) expectations” for the Ridgeline, Jeff Conrad, group vice president-Honda Div., asks, “If we did 50,000 of the old one, could we start to approach that number?

“We could come close to that, but we’d certainly have to look around at what our capacity is.” Honda already is constrained at its Lincoln, AL, plant building the Honda Odyssey minivan and Honda Pilot and Acura MDX CUVs. The hot-selling Pilot’s days’ supply was a slim 25 at the end of last month, WardsAuto data shows, well below the 71-day industry average for light trucks.

The automaker will begin sourcing the MDX from its East Liberty, OH, plant early next year, but hasn’t said how many units will shift to Ohio from Alabama.

Honda Alabama assembled 95,086 vehicles (42,023 Odysseys, 37,385 Pilots, 15,678 MDXs) in the first quarter of 2016, up 7.6% from Q1 2015, WardsAuto data shows. Odyssey and Pilot output were up 12.9% and 26.3%, respectively, while MDX builds fell 27.1%.

Honda assembled a record 363,419 units at the Lincoln plant in 2014 and built 349,703 vehicles there last year. Straight-time capacity for the plant is 350,000, so if Pilot and Odyssey production continues at the current pace, extra capacity, or a complete shift of the MDX to Ohio, likely would be necessary to support 50,000 annual sales of the Ridgeline.

    JUNE SALES 2472
    JULY SALES 3518
    AUGUST SALES 3472

Despite a significant 5.6% drop in full-size pickup truck sales, the U.S. auto industry reported a 0.2% overall uptick in total pickup truck sales in August 2016. That narrow gain of 477 additional sales compared with August 2015 was drawn entirely from a 39% gain amongst midsize pickup trucks.

That 39% gain, an 11,536-unit increase, was powered by four of five competing nameplates. (The class-leading Toyota Tacoma slid 5%.) Honda sold 3437 copies of its new Ridgeline, an increase of 3433 sales compared with August 2015. Chevrolet and GMC's midsize twins combined for 12,605 sales. Nissan Frontier sales nearly tripled to 9537 units, a gain of 5892 sales.

I think the GM twins made Toyota finally update the Tacoma but they coulda done better. Were they trying to cut cost by using the same 3.5L from the Lexus instead of all that research? I woulda done the Tundra 4.0 V6 with the D4S.

Is "doing better" necessary? Look at the decade old Frontier. Selling like hot cakes with no improvement....
