Got new tires put on the truck (Falken Wildpeak AT3W - 265/75/16 P). For some reason, the TPMS are only registering the pressure when the PSI is 45+. Any ideas?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Did you try resetting them?

Mine work with 285s at 40 psi, I would take it back to the tire shop.

Also I'm using SCS SR8 17s wheels, I know wheels are a factor too.

Wheels are the original TRD offroad wheels, those went unchanged.

I drove a considerable distance on both resets... probably 20 miles or so. I don't know what you mean by "a while".

The problem isn't that the tire-pressure light is on on the dash (it is, but thats beside the point), but all of the tire pressure readings for front left, back left, front right, and back right are reading "--" on the display... When I hyper-inflate them, they will read 45-46-45-47 etc. Can't figure it out.

Called the dealership. They want $400 to diagnose/fix the issue.

Wow that dealer is crazy, i would speak with a service manager in person, get a little heated and they should take care of you for free. That usually works for me lol

Take it for a ride, at least 10 miles at highway speeds. It should reset.

So everything was fine before, right? Did the dealer or a tire shop install the tires?
If dealer they have no right to charge for diagnostic.
If a tire shop, take back to them since all was working beforehand.

Everything was working before. Dealer did not install the tires because they wont touch tires you don't buy from them. Tire shop claims they don't have the appropriate software to diagnose since its a 2016. They tried a couple simple troubleshooting fixes to no avail. They said go to the dealer. Basically passed the buck.

    You have a couple options.
    1) Go see the dealer, pay for the diag. They will probably tell you the tire shop screwed up the sensors. Fight with the tire shop to get your money back from what you paid the dealer, plus new sensors.
    2) Ask to speak with the tire shop manager or however high you need to go and calmly explain that everything was working fine before the tire swap.
    3) Have the tire shop reinstall the original tires and see what happens.
    4) Live with it as is and never use that tire shop again
    5) Go to the tire shop and whoop some ass :D:D:D:D

I pretty much have accepted that I'm fucked in some way or another. I've been on the phone with people for hours and showed up in person to both locations twice today to try and deal with this. Basically got nowhere.

Tire shop is taking a firm stance that they won't fix it (coming from the manager). Essentially, their response is that I paid them to mount and balance a tire, which they did. Not to deal with electronics issues.

Dealership is taking a firm stance that they want $400 to fix it. Since it was done through a third party (because they dont perform this service) I have to pay for the diagnostics along with the parts/labors to fix, aka $400.

But there was no issue until they touched them.
Sensors were working before, tire shop did work requested, sensors do not work. It sure sounds like the tire shop is responsible here.

I would ask the tire shop manager who to hell in this day in age with all the electronics can he say they don't deal with electronics. I am pretty dam sure most vehicles have these. It part of dealing with tires

Agreed. And argued that... for a long time. Trust me, I'm not saying they're right by any means. I'm just relaying their argument. The guilty party is the tire shop for breaking the sensors. The douchebag party is the dealership for wanting to bend me over.

Which ones do I need for the OEM wheels? There are many different ones online. (a link would be awesome).

I'm planning for worst case scenario - which is that they all need to be replaced. Need to see what it would cost to get 4 new ones and a competent company to install them.
