I just got off the phone with with Bob who owns the shop. They can't figure out why this light comes on when they tried to engage 4 wheel drive. It will not engage into 4 wheel drive. I told him I had never used four wheel drive or even try to turn it on since I've gotten the truck. So there is a chance that something was wrong before he even put the new gears in. I told him to bring it to Toyota tomorrow and have them run a scan on it. Very frustrating! The only good note is driving it down the road in 2 wheel drive he said it drives beautifully!

 

If it isn't something that he did it should be warrantied. He's not going to tell them he even change the gears. He's probably going to tell them he put the amp running boards on or something like that I guess. I think he wanted me to bring it to Toyota but I told him that he should do it, I don't want all the questions. I just wish I knew if it worked before he got the truck.

 

Just finished her up. 3" lift 265/70R17 TKOs on level 8 mk6 rims and custom grille. Next step new headlights?

Somebody posted on the 3rd Gen FB page that their 4wd wouldn't engage either. They took it to Toyota and after hooking up the computer it worked (nothing done). Hopefully it's the same for you. I should check mine before the lift!

 

where did you get that light switch from?
did you have to mod anything to install it?
one of the switches I ordered a while back
was a little too big and I didn't want to cut anything

edit: found it. hopefully its a good fit.

 

Good idea! I feel bad he has gone through all this extra trouble and work, and it might have not worked before I gave him the truck.
