    Thanks to Shawn Locke

I assume the black motor dealio moves a cable that runs through those tubes, around each side, and up the base of the window?

I'm glad I don't have it... Looks easy to break

Does this allow for pushing the window by hand?

I don't think I've even opened my rear window once.
For Retrofit: Motor install should be straight forward;assuming there are ~3 per-exisiting holes for mounting. The track below the glass looks like the tricky part.

That's pretty basic as far as assemblies go.

Bi directional motor and some cables.

A basic wiring harness for that type of motor and tapped into an existing power source is a few extra dollars.

    My bad.

Sorry to be logical. I'll let you get back to your thread of wow and wonder.

I wouldn't doubt if that's the same motor as the one for the sunroof.

Yea, the wiring would be the easiest part. All you need is a three position momentary switch, Momentary on/off/momentary on.
Less than 20 bucks with switch and wires.
I know, sometimes logical can be scary.

Hmm looks familiar, that kit is pretty much the same one that's on the Tundra D/C if equip with one. How do I know this, I ordered the parts haha (pictured above and the switch that's on the 17 Tacoma) and yah it ain't cheap.

Looking at the pic that's posted now I kind of have an idea the lay out of it. Does anyone know if that back panel would be the same in the 2nd Gen D/C's?

I believe it was said that the motor assembly was around $200-300. That $900 in parts included an entire new back set of windows.

You know, running wires and a switch to someplace close to the drivers dash is so easy

Does the rear window need to be replaced to do this? Does the moto assembly come with those housing and cables?

I can't believe the fuss over a stupid window. Cool it's standard but trading in or slapping down $1000 to have one is pretty stupid then again I also think the guys buying $120 Trd pro shift knobs are dumb too, hey it's your truck and your money, just my opinion.

While I've not dug into my Tacoma yet, on other cars and trucks it's actually been pretty easy. There's usually a wire bundle running under both the passenger and driver side door sills at the edge of the carpet. Just follow along one of those and you're golden. In some cases I've known folks to simply tuck a couple wires under the sill and b-column panels without removing them, but that's not my preference.

I would imagine it would be similar to the existing mod for non power sliders where you have to fabricate a bracket and affix it to the glass, with the difference being a Tacoma slider motor instead of a Ridgeline one.

Speak for yourself. I think spending that money for nothing but marginally improved looks (and even that depends on who you ask) is ludicrous.

I saw a '17 truck yesterday with the power slider, and the whole window itself as well as the outside seals are different than my '16 truck.
