Yeah 4foot x 8 foot arb awning. Might get another gun case for the other side and then my maxtrax. Then I'm set.

And thank you for the compliment. I'm really happy the ways it's turning out

I wax my truck 2X per year...usually in April/May once the temps allow and again in late September in prep for fall hunting & winter. Only had a little bit of this left (it's worked very well for me over the years).

So after reading all the good things about synthetics, I decided to give this a try this time around.

I have been using the same non-synthetic wax on mine 2 or 3 times a year. The only issue is that my Taco is black, and carnauba leaves white residue around trim, badges, and stickers. It's a pain to get it all cleaned up. Does the synthetic have this issue?

Mine is the dark Timberland Mica, so I get that residue as well if I don't wipe it off well. But I take my time and get it all off. I've never used the synthetic, so I can't say yet if that will do the same.

    Washed it...

    IMG_4476.jpg

Then did the front mud guard delete mod and managed to break all six plastic rivets. First two by accident, last four by frustration.

    IMG_4475.jpg

Still trying to find time on a weekend to remove the top OL leaf on my Dakars to make the stance juuuuuuust right.

Hahaha. I could. I don't think the rear ones look that bad, and they don't get in the way like the front ones did. I'd remove the back ones the day I decide to do some actual wheeling.

I also have this weird moral issue where I would feel bad about potentially giving people rock chips on the highway. I don't even know if that's how that works. I probably just need to give fewer fucks.

    Just googled the Alberta laws:

    Mudguards
64(1) A motor vehicle or trailer must have a part of its body, a
fender or a mudguard that covers the width of each tire.
    (2) The body part, fender or mudguard referred to in subsection (1)
must be above each wheel and
    (a) extend downwards at the rear of each axle or axle group to
at least the centre line of the axle, or...

    [yadda, yadda, yadda]
So I could actually trim them a fair bit. That said, this law must not be closely adhered to around here, and have never ever heard of anyone getting a ticket for it. Probably one of those things that a cop would only ticket you for if you're being a total dipshit.

But yeah, I'll leave them on until they need to be off. My front mud guards actually caught on a tree stump and stripped a bolt that was holding the bottom-most corner of the fender flare. I noticed it was loose when I was taking the guards off, and it wouldn't tighten, just slipped around. So yeah, easy decision there.

I took my fronts off and left my rears on. I too left them on for that weird moral reason lol
I know I get pissed when I catch a rock so I don't want to be the one throwing them.

Here's how short it is trimmed to center of axle in front.......

....and this is rear trimmed to 13" off the ground which is how high the front turned out after trimming to center of axle. Rear goes down past the center of axle a bit doing it that way.

Still there, still do something, just not as much as before but they do not flap or fold backwards at highway speeds and look more appropriate. A compromise you can use legally.
