I would check out Beaverton Toyota. Tons of Tacomas in stock and all advertised online with a discount (up to about $1,850 depending on model). Most of the Off Roads show about $1,400 off MSRP. I am not sure if they would discount an ordered Tacoma though.

Now showing $2,500+ off some 2017 models. I am no way affiliated with the dealer fyi. Just like you I am hunting for my next Tacoma. I am just amazed how much Tacomas are being discounted here.

Anyone near Seattle have any suggestions what dealer I'm most likely to strike a deal? I'm thinking of making rounds next week towards the end of the month(also end of quarter) in hopes of getting a better deal, or would that be a waste of time?

First post here on the forums, been doing a lot of research on here in the last few months. Looking to purchase my first Tacoma and this is the best offer I have come up with so far.

    Location: Dallas, TX
Model: 7568, TRD OR, DCLB, 4x4, Quicksand, w/ tow only. NO p&t or anything else
    Best quote so far: $34,9XX

Some quotes from other members from this thread:

This is basically the same exact truck I am looking for but he added P&T and his price only went up $1k
Again, same basic truck minus LB, but with P&T for only $100 more than I have been quoted.

I understand these deals I quoted are very good but I feel like I should be able to get $34K even. I would buy out of state but I am going to lease most likely due to business write offs for the truck. Thoughts?

Has anyone used a company perk like fleet pricing to purchase their Taco? Where I work I can get "fleet pricing" through a local dealership but wanted to see if anyone had used it before and how much (if at all) better prices were over invoice/under MSRP.

I took the plunge yesterday afternoon and put a deposit on a 2017 TRD Off Road 4X4 DCSB in Blazing Blue Pearl. They didn't have it at the dealership, but said they could get it later this week or early next week. I had a choice between the one that was available locally in the Albany NY area (which has Predator Tube Steps that I don't want, or having to wait 8 weeks to get it built and delivered.) I figured I could live with the $649 Predator Tube Steps, especially when they sweetened the deal by throwing in the Bed Step (that I do want & which they listed as $400) for free.

Now I'm wondering if I got a decent price, or not. I'm anxious to replace my car (a 2012 Honda CRV that my daughter totaled in July) since I'm driving my husband's 2004 RAV4 and he needs it back when he puts the Miata away for the winter. I don't want to wait any longer to replace my car, but I could wait (at least until winter snow season.)

This is what I was billed:
    • Vehicle Base Model $34, 705 (MSRP $40,417)--but the cash price listed on the bill is $38,996. They said that they were giving me a discount of $1000+. The discount is not listed on the invoice, but I guess the effect of the discount is seen in that the cash price is $1,421 less than the MSRP (note that this includes the $400 Bed Step.)
    • I'm not trading in a vehicle (as it was totaled,) but I have $10K from the insurance that will be applied to reduce the new car loan. The interest rate is 2.99% on an 84 month loan (but I plan to make bigger monthly payment so as to pay it off sooner.)
    • Delivery $940
    • Tax @ 8% $3,151 (plus other NY fees $100)
    • Includes Optional Equipment $4,772: Premium & Technology Package, Dual Zone, Heated Front Seats, Driver Lumbar (not power), Parking Sonar, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Auto Headlamps, Moon Roof, Tonneau Cover, V6 Tow Package, All-Weather Floor Liners/Door Sill, Mudguards, Spare Tire Lock, Allow Wheel Lacks, Power Rear Window
I didn't know about the option to add a Rear Seat Charge Station until reading this thread, but will request one. Also, I don't know if this truck has the Power Tailgate Lock also mentioned in the first comment, but I will definitely ask about this option too.

Is this a decent price for the truck? Should I have waited for a built to spec truck, without Predator Tube Steps? Is it too late to change my mind after putting down a $500 deposit?

    A little dazed and confused!

Price is region specific. The dealer we bought from in OR, and others have mentioned that same dealer is giving invoice pricing.I ordered mine to spec and got invoice +$300.

Our deposit was fully refundable. You should check your paperwork.

To me 3% interest is high, but I didn't know they did 84 month car loans. Maybe that is why.

Getting refunds on your deposit is based on state law, in Maine they can not keep you deposit if you request it back. I even made them cross out the "non-refundable" words and initial when I put mine down. Now, if you were to change your mind and order a to be built one, i am sure they would transfer your deposit, but I wouldn't be surprised if they gave you grief about it.

The 84 month part is likely pushing the rate up.

Rate sheet from my credit union for A+ (FICO 740+) customers is 1.8% for 48 months and 3.75% for 84 months. That's before the 0.5% discount for a couple factors.

The best way to judge whether the deal is good or not is to determine the difference between the MSRP and the out the door (OTD) cost (including all dealer fees) before TTL

I don't know if I understand all your numbers as far as what is included and what not, but here is an analysis:

    MSRP $40,417
    OTD cost = $38,966 plus $940 dealer fee + $100 NY fee = $40,006.
    Difference = $411

For many folks on this thread, that difference is $2000 or greater. It may not be as much for your region.

I think it was about 1800 under MSRP but there are state fees also that add to invoice

Fwiw, I got a dealer just outside Nashville to invoice and decided not to buy. I just showed them a quote from Dean malahati at Toyota west. He gives $2500 off msrp on any non tech package trd and $3500 off tech package ones.

    That's a ~$200 one-way flight bought a week or two in advance. flights.google.com

The drive back would be a bit more involved, but could be an adventure/holiday. :D

But if you come here, you get to try Nashville hot chicken. Hattie B's, 3 tenders in hot flavor, pick any sides, get ranch. Enjoy. Don't go hotter than hot. Damn hot will stick with you for a few hours. Shut the cluck up may make you shit your pants with fire.
