Unbolt the bracket from the axle and gently bend the hard lines up. Can get a few inches there.

Your new avatar is heart breaking. My guy is sleeping on my foot right now. I dread that day. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

I have a set from @OCTaco that I will install when I install my Dakars and Shackle flip. That's gonna happen in a week or two.
You can take mine and replace with same. As long as I get them before my rear suspension install.
    they are 27"

It sucks. She is the fifth I have had to out down. They always let you know when it is time. You just need the strength to be able to do it for them. Ruby was my girl. There will never be another like her I snapped my avatar pic about a year ago. That is her telling me "Hey Daddy get up I gotta go pee" look. Nothing like getting a big sloppy Dane kiss then opening your eyes to see that thing looming over you.

Just out of curiosity what's your shackle angle at ride height. I get a lot of droop out of my dakars but they are also older so maybe they are "looser"

About 30 degrees. The shackle is straight down at full droop. I actually have the shackle in the hole farthest forward. I had them in the second hole but moved them more forward. When the springs are perfectly flat the shackle is almost 45 degrees. And when they go into negative arch the shackle angle lessens, so I am good to go. I am not really worried about the springs going into negative arch. It isn't much actually, and should not be happening very often. And if the springs wear out prematurely, it will give me an excuse to have longer custom springs made anyway;)

Is there a secret to getting these damn rear drums off? I got them on a 2 hour soak with pb blast and they still won't move.
