The pipe bending, cutting and welding/overall fabrication is something that took a lot of time to develop - and I had a close friend with some more experience with metal fabrication help build this rack with me. We wanted to build a mid-height, 100% welded rack that used the bed floor for support because the other bolt-together, bedside mounted, high or low racks just didn't meet my requirements.

That being said, it would probably be beneficial to buy one versus acquiring all the tools and materials to build one yourself. When do you need one by? I might be able to build one for you, and figure out how to get it shipped to you. PM me if you think you might want to go this route.

i do love how it looks my only question on this would be the sides, can they mount fuel/water containers without rubbing against paint? or have anyone done it, and then any one used voodoo for mounting tents on top? any special hardware needed? other than that love the look of it, saw somewhere it was 500 or something

Pretty much everyone who buys one puts a RTT on it.

Many people have put Rotopax on the tall version, I'm not sure if anyone has done that with the mid height.

how long it takes to ship to colorado, and whats the availability of it? i am planning trip in nov to moab, thinking having this with me and my rtt on it. Also whats the weight of the rack itself? the tall version what that runs at 18-20" or smaller, i assume mid one would be 12-14"

All Pro makes a mid sized, welded rack that works well with a RTT and rotopax.

The tall version is 18" higher than the bed rails.

The mid height is 10" higher than the bed rails.

Right now, we've got a slight backorder on bed racks, but we could have you one by November easily (but you'll want to order ASAP to hold your place).

The racks weigh about 50 lbs.

i should have my decision here shortly. one last question the horizontal position of rack, is that fixed more towards front as i see in puctures because of the rails systems or can it be centered on the bed?

i am thinking of mid, as i want rtt to be flush with roof of cab for better airflow, but some people say it doesnt matter. i think it looks cleaner that way and not to high of climb u have to do, and should still be plenty storage under

I'm just a huge fan of the mid for everything.

I would only go tall if I was carrying ladders or kayaks.

I know you said the tall one is 18 inches over the rail. But, I really can't measure it accurately due to the angle the rack is at without having one to measure in person. That being said, if I were to lay a ladder flat on the top of the rack, would it hit the roof or clear it?Like I mentioned in your for sale thread, I need it for a paddle board. A 14 footer. I have a short bed, so the board would be located over the roof. I would just get the Thule rack, but I think the Voodoo one looks better.

If anyone has a picture of the tall rack at the point where it goes adjacent to the roof I would appreciate seeing it.

The tall rack is just slightly lower than the roof.

So, if your paddle boards are loaded into a rack that is installed onto the top of our bed rack, it will clear.

So if I just put a set of surf racks on top of your rack I'm golden. Got it, thanks.
