Purchased a 2017 Ltd recently and asked the parts guy at the dealership if the 2016 Toyota bug deflector would work on a 2017 (No...) Does Toyota plan on offering a bug/hood deflector on the 2017 (Don't think so..don't think anything would fit) Suffice to say, our conversation was short...maybe he wasn't in the mood...to sell parts. Tossing it out to this forum if anybody with a 2017 Ltd has found a protector...Thanks for any suggestions

I'm pretty sure the body style of the 2016 and 2017 is exactly the same

The same, just watch avs and weathertech. Some are not molded evenly so one side hits the front of grill.

Thanks for the comments. Got on CARiD and they had links to AVS and Weathertech and WeatherTech now does have a low profile application for the '17s...

Nice...that was the look that I was going for. Hadn't seen any deflectors on the newly designed front ends for the '16s on the road and thought maybe the parts guy was right...the design wouldn't allow much access, so you might not be able to install anything...Thanks for the pic.

No problem, it's flush mount so it follows all the contours of the hood.
I don't really see it as a bug deflector, but rather added protection to the hood from rock chips.

Are there any areas that you can see where it could damage the paint on the hood? I want to get something to prevent rock chips but not at the cost of it rubbing the paint.

Would one of these help with the hood flipping and flopping in cross winds?

Personally go with the aeroskin, no rubbing or anything. Weathertech I can see rubbing the paint.

Watch your hood as well, mine isn't lined up perfectly, and caused a problem putting weathertech bug guard on.

The deflector itself is not touching the hood, it is held by 3M adhesive tape all along the edges which acts somewhat as a gasket between the deflector and hood. I had it on my 2nd gen Tacoma and never had any rubbing issues so I bought it for my 3rd gen.

Go with the OEM version. I saw @LoMa's OEM deflector in person and it was great - secure, not in contact with the hood, everything you'd want.
