Theoretically - yes. It looks like a simple window regulator.

I suspect that with a little ingenuity a sliding rear window can be added to the '16 for under $100.

    1. Pick up a cable-based window regulator and motor like this one.
    2. Get a matching, longer cable from your local Home Depot.
    3. Mount the motor in the similar position to what is shown in photos above.
    4. Mount "rolling wheels" (see the white & yellow ones in the regulator linked in #1) on the outer edges of the rear wall.
    5. Find a way to neatly run the cable from the regulator, to the wheels, and back to the window - attaching to each side of the window for left/right movement.
    6. Remove the existing plastic/metal component that "latches" the window in place.
    7. Connect the regulator to 12v power via a switch.

Half a Saturday's worth of work.

The tricky part will be finding a clean way to run the cable to the window, and mounting it so that it's not visible.

Yep a guy was selling kits for 2nd gens Benwa I believe. Its crazy to me guys dropping serious money on some of these things $500 pro grille insert, $120 shift knob, $900 on a power slider, 2nd gen guys would drop that money on actual mods like armor, suspension, etc.

I want a power slider. I do not want to spend $900 on it. Whenever websites start selling the slider parts for the 17s, I'm going to come up with something similar to benwa's mod.

have you seen the switch too?
so big and bulky and placed in such a stupid spot.

When I get my 2017 I will definitely be finding a way/place to relocate it.

The grill is the only thing I'd consider but not at that price. if it was around $200 I'd probably get it, but given the price I'll likely never buy it. Just not worth it just for looks.
Not to mention I really like how the ARB bumper looks and functions so I'll likely be getting that. The grill will barely be visible after with the winch bumper and lights. So why bother?

The only way I could see this as a benefit is if there was a switch at the tailgate for when some molding or what not was to long to fit without the window open.(done this many times!) While you are driving you cannot haul kids in the box anymore (so no need to yell at them) , yelling at the dog to shut up is not going to do any good , throwing beer cans is literally hit and miss. What am I missing ? Give me 8 way electric seats for short wives instead !
PS any kid that never got to ride in the open box of a pickup is deprived!

I just paid $389 for my TRD PRO Grill insert...... not $500. My bad for being "crazy" spending a little bit of money on my truck to make it unique and personal. Whats with the bashing of 3rd gen vs 2nd gen guys buying respective mods? You can do "actual" mods such as armor, suspension AND make your truck look good.

    Spread LOVE not HATE man.

Sure. Ebay. The very least expensive grill on there right now is $225. Shouldn't have trouble selling one for $190.

uh. listing and selling are 2 very different things.

There's a TRD grill that's been on my local CL for months now. He wants 50 bucks and no one has bough it.

Stock grills are worth like $70 in real life.

    Nobody wants them.

Glad you got a deal on yours. No hate, I specifically said a few posts back, your truck, your money, make it yours. Just pointing out the $$$$ being spent and what for as compared to prior 3rd gen. Just FYI I own a 3rd gen now too. Just seems more money was spent towards actual suspension components, etc. prior 3rd gen, but then again parts were cheaper too. I don't care what you want to spend your money on, I buy new gear all the time for mx, is it smart no, but makes me happy, so there. Just a bit miffed at guys who drop serious coin that could imho be better spent elsewhere improving the performance of the truck rather than aesthetics. $400 on a plastic insert would buy you new UCAs, a leaf pack, remote start, light bar, recovery gear, audio upgrades, etc. Just an example.

Not trying to argue his point, but these are completed listings that sold. Just filter eBay by sold items.

I think it's because 2nd gens can easily be picked up in the used market, and at a much lower price point, so people want to do suspension, etc.. and not so much cosmetics.

I guess, even still though, when 2nd gens were the new truck, most guys spent money on their suspension and wheels rather than TRD pro grills and shift knobs.

Is the new power window the same small horizontally opening dog door? Seems like a lot of fuss for nothing.

To be fair, just yesterday or the day before some guy asked about ditch lights and mounts he planned to order and expressed in clear terms that he was only buying them for the looks and had no plans to actually use them.

So.. some guys spend money on dumb shit. 2nd genner, BTW.
