No freaking way. A standard roof, shingles, is 10-12k.

 

I had $6500 in materials. $3500 labor. I don't like the total too much

 

In south florida yeah it is. Here standard shingles were $3200, architectural were $3600 and metal was $3800. Was a no brainer. Insurance paid $3200 to replace the roof because a tornado made its way down over our house and ripped shingles off everywhere. Added the extra and went metal.

Shingles are by far more expensive for good quality and don't last 1/2 as long

 

Materials here were $2000

 

$600 of that was ice guards that Texans don't need

 

I bought my house with the roof on it and i saw the quote $40. WTF. I need to go look at the paper work again.
For anyone trying to clean it use a deck brush and baby detergent. DO NOT POWER WASH!!

 

Do it yourself. Can pile the metal next to the truck parts.
