Ive spent as much time in the 2nd gen forum as here and one thing ive learned is using valvoline max life synthetic trans fluid is a better alternative to the oem ws. Many guys are claiming better performance with the max life. So if this stuff works well in their a750 then there shouldn't be any problems in our ac60. Am I right?

You're on a slippery slope my friend. Please don't give your dealer an excuse
(ammo) to deny you warranty. JMO.

Leave your 3rd gen alone the Toyota OEM fluid is fine. The maxlife ATF fluid is very good I have it in my truck and I changed it it 5 years 50000 miles but don't waste money if you don't have to just leave it alone.

    :)

My dad says "Don't fix it if it aint broke!" I've learned over the years that this is solid advise.

Leave your tranny alone! OEM only in there.

i do not know if it has a color to it like royal purple but if there is a way the dealer could recognize that the fluid has been replaced with other then OEM your warranty will be toast.

Although I changed my gear oil, I would not advise changing tranny fluid. Just like others have said, it could compromise your warranty.

Thanks for all the feedback. Seriously. Im not doing it anytime soon but when I do hit 25000 im going to drain and refill it a few times. Im well aware of the warranty issue and im sure it'll be out of the two year period by then

are both OEM and Valvoline fluids the same color?

If they are, how would they tell the difference if you replaced the OEM fluid?

its not uncommon for the manufacturers to send questionable fluid out for testing.

I don't know if it is the same for Toyota, but in a ford auto trans you only run Motorcraft (ford) fluid. I'd stick to OEM. You don't want to start mixing fluids either. And the only way you'll get everything out is with a flush, which is a risk in and of itself on an auto trans, unless you start early and religiously with them.
