You want to talk true fan? I have a guy, Steve, on my team at work who is a real, true blue fan of the Detroit Lions. He has been a fan for years. He displayed his mini-helmet with pride all during the joy of their 0-16 season...

That is the exact opposite of 1/2 to 3/4 of the "fans" I've met through my life... Two or three bad seasons, or hell 2 or 3 bad games, and they're ready to throw in the towel. Nope, not Steve... give him his Lions and Pistons and he's good to go.

And at least 22 of them would like to be in his shoes even if the Vikings weren't in the playoffs.

"I get to be quarterback on a team that has Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice? And when I'm not on the field the defensive line destroys the other guys? Hell yes, sign me up..."

My Cowboy are out. Your Chargers are out. Kinda sounds like were in the same camp now. It was fun while it lasted. Looking forward to what happens next. It's always more fun when it's unpredictable no matter who your rooting for. My inlaws are from Indie do I really have to root for the Colts?

but don't get me wrong i guess we shouldn't judge people by the team they go for, but there are a lot of people that go for certain teams that can be really rude that's for sure!!

Figured most of you guys are still conked out, so I'll take advantage of the time zones and :stirthepot:...

Wanna see how the game has changed, look back to when football was less of a "business" and more of a will to survive...outdoor stadiums... grass/mud fields...folks dressed up like eskimos...bench clearing brawls...some of the best rivalries; Oakland/Kansas City, Giants/Baltimore Colts, Redskins/Dallas, etc. I still enjoy watching the game, but miss the simplicity of the 60's/early seventies, when the single bar face masked Q.B. was fair game, and players were featured on the inside of Coke Cola bottle caps...time for a nap...;)
