Holy crap just when I thought I could keep up on here.

X2. Back when I put the Man A Fre SBC kit in my FJ55 after ripping out the 2F engine in the early 80's I went with a 350 4 bolt main. Acid dipped the block (doubt you can even do that today) and put in high compression pistons. I assume that when you talk domed pistons it is what we used to call pop up pistons. Hey I paid attention to my Grandpa, Dad and Uncle when they worked on the Bodine Brothers race cars. Although I focused on trucks and off road so I built for low end instead of high end like most people with those wild ass cams. Back then if you could do a HP per cubic inch naturally aspirated on the dyno you were at the top of the heap. The problem with milling heads, pop ups, and high compression in general is getting high octane fuel on the road. Last I saw of my FJ55 it was heading to Adak, Alaska when I sold it to a Seabee. Always wondered if he could find 94 Octane there and on the way up. I should have owned stock in Sunoco gas stations back then.

LOL not exactly what I was envisioning as a 5th wheel either. Well played!

Should clear just fine. I had 265/75/16's on mine with stock suspension. Couldn't make 'em rub no matter what I did.....still have 265/75/16's now, but with 3" lift and 1" wheel spacers. Clearance galore!

Back in the '70's, there was a guy named Terry Hoard that drag raced a Mazda w/rotary engine.....seems like it was a B/MP car.....He'd launch it at about 15K. It was a rocket. NHRA had a hard time figuring out what class to put them in. They'd figure it out and Terry always had more HP in the bank. I used to see him @ Beech Bend a lot. Also had Joe Williamson with a straight 6 in a gasser and Cooke & Thorne's injected small block chevy B/dragster (worlds fastest small block at that time) Interesting cars at the time!
