    Hello from North Carolina!

I've got a black 01 sr5 I bought new, now I'm headed to the dealership next week, unless I find time this week.

I'm after a black trd offroad with as many doodads as I can afford, I'm going to see If they'll take off the trd decals though. Somewhere down the line I'd like to get a sport hood and maybe try and build a Knight Rider light to put in the scoop (I'll probably never do that though).

and I'm kind of thinking of painting the wheels black, I'll have to look at some more pictures.

Welcome to TW! Are you planning any suspension/wheel mods? If you like the look of the hood and wouldn't mind not having a rear locker you might want to consider getting the sport. Might be easier than swapping the hood out later on. Just my .02

It's pretty easy to take the decals off yourself. Just need a heat gun or hair dryer and a little bit of goo gone.

Someone else on here did the night rider mod with their scoop. I don't remember who, but it looked good. You'll have to search for it.

GL with the purchase... also I'd take the decals off yourself, I wouldn't trust them not to scratch it up.

    thanks everyone!

You're right! I've been thinking about it, all the things I like about the offroad, like the chrome grill, if I can't get easy enough when I buy it, will be a lot easier and cheaper to switch out than a hood. some of the other things I can live without. I'm going to the dealership Wednesday and talk it over with a salesman, hopefully I'll find a good one who knows the vehicles. I'm not going down there in truck buying mode until the end of the week when I have more time though.

as far as the decals go, I didn't think about the dealership scratching up the paint, so maybe I'll do it myself.

years ago I was at a friends house helping him remove some pin stripes, it took a while but they had been on for several years. His mother was kind of mad about her hair-dryer, he ran it so long it quit working.
