Wheel spacers. How much is TOO much?

So I currently run 1.5 Wheel spacers on my taco. I've had em on for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I recently went from 265/70/16 to a 285/75/16 and am still finding myself wanting a bigger LOOK. So i was wondering what thoughts would be about going to a 2.5 spacer instead? Did some research on here and can't find any specifics on TOO much for your own good kind o' thing. Any thoughts?? Also Im running this tire on a factory 7 rim. Does this affect anything?

I would imagine you are at the limit with 1.5. Try getting some wheels with more of an offset. But be careful too much looks ghetto. Like my landscapers who drive a truck that has every pep boys accessory. Not that is rocking with the double gold windshield wipers and chrome gas cap with 14x10 wheels. IT IS TERRIBLE.

Yeah i definitely DONT want that low rider spacer look, just a little beefier.

 

I dont think its safe to go any wider on the spacers but I could be wrong

 

I know Allpro makes a 2" but I've heard there's a bad shim/shake at highway speeds

 

I have the 1.25 spidertrax on FJ wheels and they are perfect, I would not want them any wider. You are better off getting 8.5 wheels if you want it to look better. Those wheels are too narrow, you are already at the limit in my opinion.

 

you mean an 8.5 rim? What do you mean at the limit? The spacer width? Thanks!

 

Bro that looks good. No need to stick them out any further, you'll run the risk of tripping on them when walking past...haha but it would be a safety concern if u went any more.
