Amen.. I have said it so many times. These trucks are very capable. Just get what YOU think will work for YOUR truck. If your plans change, you can cross that bridge when you get there.

Well said. I think a lot of us have gone down the budget route thinking we were just camping and light off road, I know I was. Then I got the itch, I wanted to go further wanted to climb bigger. Ended up spending a lot more money switching suspension at a later date. I think a couple others said get what you think works best for you. If you know you are never going to be doing anything bigger then there is no need for the nicer suspension. But if you think you do want to do the bigger stuff later then definitely save and get the nicer suspension rather than having to buy one and replace it.

If I had my druthers, I would already be rolling on Fox. Reality mixed with pocket lint dictates that Bilstein might be my future unless I start whoring my mouth out to rich gay dudes who are into middle aged tradesmen...

Maybe Sunday. Looks like 30 or so of us will be at the biggest home brewed (non-sponsored) Mod Day in the history of TacomaWorld!!! One of our VA Mod Days had 21 trucks... and that was epic!

Hmmmmmm.... AZ GB on the DL?

There is one def way to keep that feel... Keep it stock! Seriously though, I've had mine since 08\05. I started modding it about a year after I got it, and have spent enough $$ on various piece meal suspensions that I could prob have a crazy set up. HOWEVER, I did what I could, when I could, and many TW'rs around the country keep my old parts alive, as I have from others!

If you have an "addictive type" personality, you'll always be upgrading. Though I have finally "dialed in my suspension", I'm still spending, now on "expo" type stuff. My opinion, do what you think is right and what YOU can afford, and keeps you out of trouble financially or martially!!! If you decide you want bigger, better, more expensive, you upgrade, and sell off your old stuff.

Be good to you and your truck, it'll all be good. Enjoy the road, particularly the dirt ones.

AGREED! You gotta take all the opinions, all which are valid, and match it up with your budget and lifestyle.

    There ya go!

Stuff and things to make glamorous camping faster and more enjoyable.
This may be apples and oranges since we have a Tundra and not a Taco, but we ran bilstien 5100 on the front for a year and a half and went places that 'serious off roaders' consider challenging. We sort of fell into this group of people that are all long travel or bypassed midtravel and did several trips with them. Our only limitation was speed through the whoops. We never came to an obstacle we couldn't clear.
If putting on a reasonably priced system now means that you have gas and food money to get out there more often, use the money for trips, and experiment with how you're gonna use the rig.
There is always a market for used equipment - to sell yours and buy someone else's.
Also, this thread seems to thrive on being hijacked for any reason you can imagine.
