I have the 2016 DCLB with Tow Package and Premium Technology Package w/JBL. It's my first truck so I can't really compare it to anything but I have driven other trucks here and there. It's the best riding truck I have driven and I love that it has all the updated technology. The keyless entry is great! I love keeping my keys in my pocket or backpack and being able to hop right in, push to start, and go. I just drove it from Kentucky to Florida and back recently and had no issues. Didn't feel uncomfortable once during the trip. I also love that it's very popular so there are a lot of aftermarket options as you'll see in the links above. The only thing I ever wondered about was if the towing capacity was enough, but I recently looked up the F150 that compared in price and they weren't much higher in towing capacity. I haven't towed anything yet, but I don't have that worry if I should have looked into something else. Oh, the JBL system is awesome! I don't read much about it on here, but I love it. Wasn't an expensive addition and its covered by the warranty.

@Bigtruckjames Rear differentials have a tendency to howl and the transmission can occasionally be a little slushy. This tends to be the general consensus. However, I still like my truck. Sometimes I wish I had a fullsize, but then I park my tacoma or drive it down an overgrown, backwoods, gravel trail and I'm glad I'm not so wide. If you regularly have more than 2 passengers you (or they) will miss the spaciousness of your F150. If I had more money I may have gone the 2.7 liter f150 route. That truck is a good compromise on fuel efficiency and power.

My 06 hauled a little over a ton of concrete pavers.
Now, while it did this and a chevy, dodge, or ford may also do it does not make them equal. I only went a few miles and had no idea there was a ton of weight in the back.
I was talking about car sales folks actually, not the OP.

My advice to you is to wait for Toyota to get their "quality" taken care of on the 2016 Tacoma's. I own a 2016 Tacoma w/less than 3900 miles on it and I've had it in the shop 4 times. Right now, we're in the process of dealing w/a transmission flare and shuddering issues. I also have howling in the rear end and chirping noise under the hood. I've owned a Toyota Tacoma for the past 28 years and this is by far the "WORST" truck I've bought and driven. I'm not getting any help from the two different dealerships that I've taken the truck to. Today was the last straw. I'm going to contact an attorney for my final step to see what can be done about me getting my money back for this truck. It want be Toyota saying nothing can be done, it will be my attorney. I would highly advise you to look on Craigslists or Search Tempest and see all of the Tacoma's they have for sale..... that should speak volumes. I wish you the best if you decide to buy a 2017 Tacoma.

Some people have issues, most people don't. Go and test drive one and form your own opinion. Your thread will attract a bunch of people that have had issues. I had a 16' and currently have a 17'. I haven't had problems with either. Although I probably need to the transmission TSB on my 17' but my dealer says the 17's aren't effected. It doesn't bother me much so it's not a big deal. I'll bug them when it's time for service.

Haha, you don't know the half of it. The 16' was the first vehicle l've owned since about 08'. In the mean time I've went through 2-3 Toyota's (mainly Tacoma's & T4R's with a few Tundra's and Camry's mixed in) a year as part of my company's evaluation program.

Most don't have problems some do that means theirs a problem( GO to craigslist or searchtempest and see how many are selling their trucks because they are so happy with them)

We have a DCSB 4Ă—4 limited Tacoma (WIFE)and a crew Tundra crewcab 4Ă—4.They both pull anything we have without any problems.Bass boat, utility trailer with atv, load of wood. But in no way struggles.Shift it manual or ect button.Tundra does it (better?)Tacoma a LOT easier to drive on trails, and city.Better fuel mileage.Tundra roomier,if you plan on taking 3 full size friends wherever you go .If you're close to +6000lbs pulling on REGULAR basis, get Tundra. If not,Tacoma.A few people had problems with both.
