Chirping sound in the engine compartment 2016 Tacoma sport v6

So I took the truck back to the dealer because of this chirping that is all the time know. They told me to was the new fuel injection system on the new 3.5l, I think they are full,of it, has anyone heard of this. I spent a lot of,money on this truck to have it squeaking all the time.

sounds like you're describing the weird sound of the injectors and atkinson cycle thing.

To the OP - are you sure its squeaking?? Sounds like the hood rattle thing - definitely NOT the Atkinson cycle. The stealership is smoking the good stuff again forgot to share with you so you wouldn't notice. Just sayin

 

He keeps hating on the taco, I don't blame him for being frustrated, but it does get old after a while

 

The injector cleaning shouldn't last more than 10-15 minutes and will only occur at hot idle.

Another possible sound is the high pressure fuel pump chirping. I noticed this a lot before during idle, but for some reason (only had the truck 6 months), I haven't heard it lately.

 

Yup, most often when people report "chirping" from engines it is Toyota's D4-S injection system... specifically as you say the high pressure fuel pump. Sound is cosmetic only and shouldn't hurt anything. I think gas with ethanol tends to make it worse.

If it sounds like crickets it is the direct injection system. That sound as frequents the brz as well(also Toyota DI system). If it sounds like tapping then it is cleaning.

 

So if he hates it so much why not just get rid of it and drive something else?

I can't ever imagine spending my time posting on a forum devoted to something I loathe.

 

It's normal to our engines like the others are saying. Mine does it as well. The dealership isn't lying to you

 

I agree with you man. He must just be a miserable person or just gets a kick out of it.
