thanks, I am debating on a soft top for the new truck, only because it will be easier to remove and put back on, where I have not taken my hard shell off since it was put on the truck.

its definitely easier... its a one person show for sure and only take 5-10 minutes to from full canopy to closed... if anyone has a shell and looking to trade please let me know!

Well the order is placed both for the 2017 Double Cab Qucksand SRD sport with short bed and a ARE z series with fold down sliding front door and recessed side windows with slide...also putting a bedrug as I have one in my 2013 and love it.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and help.

I might be interested ... two questions:
    - I read that the 3rd gen SoftTopper was recently updated to fit the tailgate better. Is yours the original and if so how does it fit?
    - I know you're in NorCal, where? I'm in Santa Cruz.

^^ I guess I forgot one other detail, I have a Z Series ARE with tracks, tip-out side windows, tilt and slide front window, keyless entry, tracks and Yakima crossbars, for a 3rd Gen Short bed, silver. Very good condition.

I agree with everything here. I've always had shell on my trucks.

I used to hate trucks with shells but when I got older I started to like them. Not an ARE but here's mine...
