    Thanks for stopping by, fellas!

I'm definitely going to wait and see how the 600s do with skids, a tube bumper, and a winch. I'm also going to pull the trigger on the All-Pro greaseable shackle setup, which will lift the rear another 3/4" (can't seem to find a stick height shackle and bushing setup that's greaseable...). Once all of that is done, along with my rear shock relocation, I'll take stock of things.

I love the ride height right now, and the tubbing will take care of the rub regardless of the spring rate. I do NOT want to lose any droop travel, and cranking these further will do just that. So a 650 may be just right if it's needed at all.

As for the 700s, Rob, I'd heed Brett and Austin's advice. Along with Monte (@Blackdawg) and Old Guy Brett (@BDN), they are the dudes who's goals and methods I respect, and who are doing the cool shit right now that I want to do in the future. Also, it seems like 700 is perfect for those fatass armored 2nd Gens, where 650 works well for us and our far superior Best Gens :D

Haha!!! The Three Cripples of the Truckpocalypse!

Mine is just going so damn slooooooow. But work is starting to cooperate with my life goals a little better now, so things will start to move faster!

On the other hand, I made a list of all of the shit that I have left to do, and it bummed me the fuck out :annoyed:

Keep me posted on how your baby is coming along, man!

Hell yes! Great to finally meet you too, man! I think your truck is way more trail ready than mine is, tho. You can tell that you really thought everything out!

Let me know when you're down this way! I owe you a beer or three!

    Haha! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

It'll be a little while before they're installed, but the plan is to relocate the rears and then see how everything feels. To be honest, the 5125s aren't bad, but I want to be able to rebuild the shocks and play with the valving. They are purty, that's for sure!

And some eye candy that showed up earlier that day...

2.5x10" with CDC. DSMS set me up with a flutter stack to start with, so we'll see if they do a good job of keeping the ass end planted. I went with the CDC to have some adjustability between nominal (bed rack, RTT, spare) and 'loaded for bear' (#EAF glamping whore). It's no replacement for proper valving, but once the valving is dialed, that should come in handy.

I'll probably see if the mighty @TMFF can help me get to where I want to be. But how to pay a man who brews his own beer? Bitcoin?

    Bahaha!

I will have 15 gallons of awesome (I hope) Sour IPA in 2 weeks! Your welcome to stop by to sample. I also have a 9% Belgian triple on tap, it's almost too good.

But I have a decent selection of King shims to get you riding nice.

The only benefit to 700s is they will last longer.

Springs wear out. And need replaced especially if wheeled a lot.

That said, I wouldn't bother unless your running a plate bumper, full skids, winch, and dual batteries or something else.

They will need valved differently too.

To continue with the rear suspension...

My plan is to pull the bed and go full retard. Since I have to weld in the BAMF rear shock relocation kit, I think the right thing to do would be to take a weekend and do the frame plating (and maybe boxing), as well as stitch welding the back bumper in case I need to tow anything.

That's a lot of work to do, especially when it'll involve a bunch of cycling, tacking, and all of that to really dial in the rear suspension. But to be able to drive away and have a locked down suspension, frame, and bumper would totally be worth it. That whole area is pretty key, since I'll have a fair amount of shit back there at any given time.

Nice! I'll definitely be taking you up on all of that goodness at some point! Not sure when I'll be able to get the rear end done, but when I do, I want you to drive it with me and tell me what you think. Then we can go from there.

I kinda get the idea behind valving, but what I'm not so spun up on is the feedback from the truck that dictates where to go with it.
    Thanks for stopping by, Monte!

I can't see me going more than 650, which seems like a good compromise for me. I'm gonna be running a tube bumper, full skids, and a winch. But I'm designing an area behind the passenger seat for my dual battery setup, along with all of my electric distribution and maybe radio stuff. So I won't be hanging 100# off of the front driver corner. And I'm already budgeting in replacement springs along with shock rebuild costs. All part of the game at this stage.

Thanks for that, Yea I was definitely thinking of longevity aswell, but based on opinions 650s will be plenty for me. Jason you had a point about all these 2nd gens needing the 700s. I suppose I hang around too many 2nd gens I got so use to hearing everyone running them I thought I would need em too

Yea 650 works well with our trucks.

700 works too just different feel. Mike runs 700s on his rig.

Nah. I'm switching to 600s my next set. But I'm long travel. Different geometry.

Hey Monte, can you explain that a little? I think I'm tracking, but I want to make sure.

Also, how do you like your LT setup for 'expo' type stuff? I've seen those kind of rigs running SAS, LT, and of course mid-travel.

    Thanks!

    Almost forgot!

I drove up to Fort Collins to pick up some goodies from @AddictedOffroad! Scotty (the owner) is a super cool dude, and was gracious enough to hang out after closing on a Friday to answer my inane questions and make sure that I was all set. I'll definitely work with him again.
