One more "hot" day, then it starts cooling off. Probably won't see 90's again for 8 months.....It was oppressive heat yesterday. Sun and heat. Talking mid 40's by Tuesday morning. I'm ready. Back in the day, it couldn't get hot enough for me. Now days I prefer cool (even cold) over heat.

Jacked the psi back up in my truck tires for a couple road trips. Gas mileage went back up to where I like it. Got almost 24 mpg on one tank (All interstate, 65mph, cruise set, flat roads) Friday evening we drove to Sparta Kentucky to Ky Motor Speedway for the ARCA race. 75 miles each way, 85mph, tucked up behind a semi most of the way to, and 65 mph, on an empty highway on the way back. 30 minutes in traffic, crawling along, getting out of the track. Still got over 19mpg. (The 85mph charge there killed mileage!) I hope to average around 20. Moral of the story, don't air down to 28psi again, no matter how much smoother the ride is.

    Have a good'n everyone!

good morning everyone! cloudy and cool here today supposed to rain tomorrow and we really need it. i borrowed a bed rail mounted tire rack it goes from side rail to side rail from a buddy who can't use it anymore figured id borrow it and see if it works for me before i consider investing the time to make one. i can't find these t-nuts that fit in the bed rails to secure it and would like to put it on. do any of you know of any thing else i can slide into the bed rail tracks to be able to bolt this down? i'd ike to be able to go to lowes or somewhere and get the stuff and install it today

I used some bolts and fender washers. Ground the washers down until they just slid into the rail. Hi lift is heavy and they hold it solid on rough roads. I've got pictures on my build thread if you want to see them

i thought about bolts but this thing has angle that sits down on the bed rails and comes down over the tracks it's a snug fit i couldn't slide the bolts into the tracks and put this over i'm going to have to get a nut or something to slide into the tracks and run the bolts in throuh to them i'll try and get a pic

Not much time to look, but see if this helps. I'm sure there are other threads.

If your going to Lowes go to the electrical section and pick up 3/8" Superstrut nuts. Others call them unistrut nuts which is what I always referred to them as. http://www.lowes.com/pd/SUPERSTRUT-3-8-in-Straight-Strut-Nut/3284278

You need fender washers too, and of course the type bolts you want. I use eye bolts as tie downs along the bed.
