So my toytec installer is a Toyota dealer. Would this mean that the lift would not void the factory warranty?

to many to list, check the build thread
the lift won't void any factory warranty unless they can prove that the part installed did something to break the OEM toyota part. Ive gone in for warranty work after the lift install with ZERO problems.

with the leaf spring recall thing, toyota will usually just not re install your AAL into the replacement of the recalled leaf pack unless you get a cool tech.

Cool may just give me piece of mind if later another dealer tries to blame installer for secondary problem..

When ordering the boss 2.0 are you guys having to set the height by adjusting them? How much lift straight out the box? Website says 0-2" so does that mean zero? When you guys do crank them out would it be safe to assume it stiffens the ride?

X2…Why would the lift be 0-2? In my book 0 (zero) means nothing. To reach 2 inches of lift after the springs settle what is required from what you get out of the box. How is the ride as compared to a stock TRD 4x4 OR DCSB with a 2 inch lift. I like the stock ride and don't want a stiff ride if I have to crank up the springs to get 2 inches. Tks

Debating between the Boss 2.0 with 2 inch long AAL and the OME 2 inch lift kit with 887 springs and softer valving shocks, full rear dakar pack. Is there a reason why the OME does not include the diff drop kit or is it not required with their kit? Looking for 2 inches of lift that will be close to stock ride on a TRD OR 4x4 DCSB. Daily Driver with maybe some beach sand, no serious off roading. ( and before anyone ask why did I get a 4x4 if i'm not wheeling it, it's the only way I could get a 6MT) tks TW

Nothing noticeable. I got a Pelfrey full hoop aluminum bumper going on in a couple weeks so we will see how that effects them.

    Toyota's are awesome
So the Boss 2.0 coilovers are adjustable from 0-2" of lift since the 16+ Tacoma's are already leveled out by one inch on the front you can only raise it 2 inches from that point essentially giving you a full 3 inch lift. They should be sent to you at about 1.5 inches of lift out of the 2" they are capable of.

Any lift you decide to put on your vehicle will change the feel of it. With the 2.0 Boss being valved more towards an everyday driver and weekend off-roader it will be very similar to what you have now considering the 3rd gens are a slightly heavier truck, they do have a heavier stock spring to help.

Thank you! So does getting that extra 1/2" alter the ride from the 1.5" it ships with?

You wont notice much of a difference at all with just 1/2 an inch. Obviously you are pre-loading the coil and and it will feel different from a completely stock ride but it wont be bad in my opinion.

A lift block will keep the same ride that you have now, only thing it will do is raise the backend of the truck up just a little. You arent changing anything with the springs with a block. When you add a new leaf to the pack you will slightly stiffen up the ride. It will give you more lift and reduce the body roll that you can sometimes get with a stock leaf pack.

Tks for your reply. Because I'm on the fence between the Boss 2.0 and OME 887 soft valving and leaf pack, which lift do you recommend to get 2 inches after the springs settle and which would be as close to stock ride on a TRD OR 4x4 DCSB. Thanks again.

Toytec Boss 2.0 would probably be the closest ride quality to stock. OME is very good and they test their stuff all the time, but it is meant for more of an over-landing vehicle that is going to be carrying a lot of weight comstantly.

Thanks for your advice. One more question, on the Boss 2.0, can you run a 2" block instead of the 1.5 that comes with the kit? Pro's and Con's?

Yes you can run a 2" block instead of the 1.5". No drawbacks to it mechanically only thing is you will sit about an inch higher in the rear than the front. Most people want some rake in case they load the back end up. We can switch it out for you too. Just give us a call and we can take care of that 303-255-4959.
