Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
I started pulling things apart to fix a leaking water pump. The PO apparently F'd up the install and the seal blew after 30K mi... all the belts still look new. I'm still going to replace them all and do a few extra things while I'm in there. This is the first time I have dug this far into a motor on my own. It's been an interesting experience so far and if I ever have to do this again it will go MUCH faster...

I was just wondering. For someone that would want to piece together their lift one piece at a time rather than buying everything at one time.

Yeah, the way you clarify here is how I understood your question as well. I don't see a lift being mandatory to be able to run the uniball UCA's. And if the ride height remains untouched, I can't see an alignment being necessary either. This may be off, just sharing my thoughts as I think about it. I'm not speaking on experience. I'm sure others here understand this better and have much more experience with this than I do.
A decent point you bring up, as this would allow you to escape the possibly detrimental effects of running the stock control arms and ball joints. Hmmmm...

The uniball ucas usually have more caster and change the camber to something more suited for a few inches of lift.

Oh gotcha, so they're designed to accommodate the camber of an already lifted truck. Is there enough room on them to go backwards with the caster to get them into spec if installed on a non-lifted truck? I thought they were direct replacement and just allowed for more caster when needed. Thanks for the info.
Edit : nevermind, the caster is built into the arms, right? Derp, don't know what I was thinking. Yeah I feel dumb, I got it now.

No harm done, man. You have to get educated on this stuff somehow, right?

Lol, yeah, I guess, I'm new to the world of coil overs. My land cruisers have all been solid axled except for the couple 100 series I've owned. Even then, those had control arms but no struts. Shock and torsion bar set up. But regardless the principle of adjustment is all the same, just new terminology to learn, lol. And I guess new areas on suspension where the adjustments take place.

I changed the engine oil. After reading all the posts about discrepancies on the fill quantity, I paid a little more attention to the change. This is my first oil change since taking possession of this Tacoma. The dipstick showed oil over the full line. I'd estimate a half inch or so higher. 6 quarts came out. The PO had the previous oil change done at a lube shop(sticker on windshield). The oil filter was the Napa equivalent of the OEM filter, so same amount of oil as the filter going in. I put in a jug of 5qt Mobil 1, 0w-40 European spec(same oil Porsche uses from factory). The oil is very fairly priced at Wal-Mart, I think it was 22 bucks. Also not looking to get into a pissing match about the brand oil, lol. Everyone should just use or continue to use what you feel sufficient or best, I will too, lolol. After the change the dipstick marked almost exactly halfway between the full and low line. I'll likely pick up a quart of the same oil and fill it to the full line. I'm stating this only for a data point. I don't know if anyone is even keeping track of this oil stuff anymore. Anyway, it's done.

You used 0w-40 and not 5w-30?
