I was just out at Butcher Jones yesterday and when I got out to the first cove it was a disgrace! We should really do something about this. I packed out about 3 full garbage bags between my girlfriend and myself but I didnt have anymore bags to pack out any more. We should revive the original thread and get a group to go. If anyone is interested let me know. 2 or 3 trucks total should be enough to at least make a dent! I'm in so there is one. If the wrong people saw that mess we are at risk of having a pretty fun area shut down.

I will be going out again in the next few weeks and bringing more garbage bags. Whoever wants to join is more than welcome.

Don't need 4x4 for most of Butcher Jones but a locker is good to have... which you probably don't being a 4 banger. You could always ride with us though! Also, I'm still down I just can't do wed-sat's

Also the thread is still stickied. :D

Lets do it then. Sunday the 17th. I might have to drag out the whole family so no hardcore wheeling but the little ones make for good helpers with the cleanup!

We can just meet up by the entrance at a time we will set closer to the date.

I might still be in, should know more tomorrow. BTW, there is a sign posted for using the north entrance off hwy 87 (same you'd enter for El Oso Rd on 4 Peaks). It wasn't chained up but, could be by Sunday.

Sorry about that. My internet went down and didn't get it back up and running til today. I ended up going out there early with a few friends and grabbed a few bags worth from the first cove out. I think it was actually worse than last time I was there. It is going to take a few of us out there to make a solid dent.

The entrance by the lake said it was going to close? How do you get to the area from up by four peaks? I have never gone that route.

You do know about the huge clean up going on Feb 6th? Last year there were over 500 volunteers with 21 tons of garbage picked up.
