Colorado B.S. Thread

So I was on my way down to Lake Isabel on Friday night, and while stuck in traffic between Castle Rock and the Springs I noticed a clunking sound whenever I accelerated or stopped. I stopped at a gas station and upon inspection didn't see anything wrong visually or by feel. After some research, it seemed that it could be a few things but I'm leaning toward--and hoping for--greasing the driveshaft joints (Stevinson should have taken care of this during previous services). Thoughts?

 

If there is clunking, the joints are beyond grease and are about to come apart on you.
It's not too hard to crawl underneath and inspect them for movement around the trunnions and caps.

 

See if the spare tire is loose while you're under there. just a thought.

 

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info; I'll take a look tonight. My spare is on the swingout and I already checked for other loose crap under the truck.

There are self serve car washes. You dont have to drive through it all the time...
