It definitely felt like it was transmission related. It felt like it shifted ten times in about five seconds. The trans has always had the standard third gen quirks. Dealer wouldn't check the fluid manually so who knows

Have the transmission fluid manually checked and documented. You want it documented how much trans fluid they add (if any).

If they wouldn't check it for you before, and you got an "low oil pressure and high auto trans fluid" message, open up a case with Toyota immediately; explaining these details.

If the engine stalls the low oil pressure light or screen will turn on. Thats normal.

They will look for pending codes and make a call to corporate and they will tell them what to check and they have to approve all the repairs.
In the case of my friend, it took a day and a half to get approval to replaced the CSP sensor and then 2 days to get the part in and install it.
It's an super easy and fast replacement once they get approval.

Make them aware that you know this (the CPS) could be the problem and you are well aware of this part failing.
Be polite and be cool, let them run all their test and wait to see what it turns out to be. Even though the mil light may not come on, there could still be pending codes they can extract from the ecm to guide them

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

Just wondering was the CPS thing something only for the 2016? Was it corrected for the 2017?

I'll open a case tomorrow for two reasons. 1. I need a cool down period. 2. I'll have all day to do it because I can't get to work now

Yes, ask them what Tacoma or better you get to drive while they have your broken truck.

Also with this low trans fluid, does any one know if it's just on those with the tow package? Bead thinking they may not account for the amount the trans fluid cooler takes.
