"Since Russell Wilson became the starter for Seattle in the 2012 season, the 49ers have been outscored 216-92 in the regular season."

The Seahawks have dominated this matchup. All time W-L record vs. SF, SEA 21-15. 8-1 in the last nine. Remember all the talk about Kaepernick, RGKnee, Luck and Wilson?

Chip must have a PRO BOWL line of BS to get hired as head coach again after Phila. He left that team in complete disarray, last year he quit on the team and the team quit on him.

Yea the Niners are pathetic but everyone knows that already. Wonder how long Gabbert stays in there. It's hard to watch but I've been through worse. Watching them in the post-Mooch era and before Harbaugh was tougher to watch IMO. But at least tickets are cheap again :D

Anybody watch the Jets/Chiefs game? 8 turnovers, and Shitzpatrick throwing for 6 INT's.

I think he completed more passes to Kansas City than he did to his own teammates. Jets coaching staff may want to have him tested for color-blindness.

I was hoping for SOMETHING resembling an offense yesterday. Obviously, our supposed all star running line couldn't figure out how to run block.

Seattle had 8-9 guys in the box all game because Gabbert can't throw, and when he does, it's for sure short of the sticks

No lie. The shorty passes are ridiculous. I wouldn't doubt they bring Kaputnick back if he can stop protesting long enough. Either way I don't need my sunglasses for the future of this season cause it aint too bright. I watched the first quarter then went to the Pittsburgh game. Unfortunately that game sucked just as bad. I even lost a last minute wager that the Niners would lose by more points than the Steelers. Grim

Chip supports Kap's protest so that's not the reason he's not playing. It comes down to a couple of things:

Gabbert was there during the OTAs and preseason without any limitations - and a lot of the guys like him as a person. Kap was always a loner in the locker room, but this whole protest has turned things around (think: rebrand) and a lot of the guys have come around to Kap - more so than ever. But even still, Chip owes it to Gabbert because he always said in the off/pre season that the job will go to whoever does best with his snaps in the preseason - and Kap didn't play in 2 of them.

Chip isn't going to switch to the back up until it gets really bad - and trust me it's brewing in that direction. It's almost like letting Gabbert prove to everyone (media, fans, etc) that he sucks so bad that the decision is a no brainer.

But what interest me is how the front office is going to come into play. Baalke has a history of not being on Kap's side because he was Harbaugh's pick. Jed just recently donated $1M toward Kap's cause so Baalke is kind of on an island on his distaste of Kap. But if Chip plays Kap, and Kap gets injured, then the Niners are on the hook for $15M for Kap's injury guarantee.

In a nut shell for those who don't give a shit - Niners are not good and it starts at the top

I think Palmer's about had it. The gut brothers may pull off a few more wins, who knows?

Didn't know about Jed's donation. That's interesting. I believe Chip likes Kap and wants him in there for his particular style of offense. He's mentioned that his weight isn't up to par yet and he did have a few surgeries done. Your theory is probably sound about proving Gabbert doesn't have it. I just feel that Kap doesn't have it either. It's one situation where I wouldn't mind being wrong.

Yea Kap's weight is way down. He lost so much muscle during his multiple surgery off season. He couldn't work out anything - as oppose to someone who injures his arm but still can work out legs, or vice versa. And even just looking at him - it's evident that he's a lot smaller.

When Gabbert continues to suck for more games, Chip will make the move to go with Kap, and it'll be dual purpose. Kap will have had a full 4-5 extra weeks of strengthening. If I were to guess, Chip will make the move after the Thursday Night game against AZ in week 5 because after will be a mini bye week before playing the Bills.
