it improves MPG over what a v8 would get yes.
But a N/A V6 will have better MPG.

Probably is fine if you dont have a heavy foot because it will never reach boost lol.
I've had many turbo cars and yes this is true your MPG is fine if you don't have a lead foot, meaning you never hit boost. As soon as you hit boost bye bye.
I can go from 18MPG to like 12MPG if I always hit boost.

Audi having a VW engine (if you have a A3 or TT) mind you even the V6 supercharged is made by VW
    Acura having honda engines
    Infiniti having Nissan engines.
    Lincoln having Ford engines.

From what I read (mind you it was on wiki so who knows how true it is) the 2GR was used in a few Lexus SUV for 2016 and 2017 though.
But either way yep it is a toyota engine regardless.

I've always loved the guys that buy an A3 and say I have an audi...cool story bro, you just paid $14 000 more for a VW golf with a 70/30 biase front wheel AWD system.

Lamborghini owned by VW now too lol.
But they are making their own engines still.
Just using the same chasis and transmissions as VW uses for the R8.

    Ferrari owned by Fiat lol.
Porsche just being a fancy VW Beatle lol.

VW owns so much now. Audi, Porsche, Ducati Motorcycles, Lamborghini, Skoda, Bugatti, Seat
I feel like I'm missing one.

Yes, I need a full size, not because the Taco can't do it, it does fine on short haul camp trips, but I'd like to head for the Rockies, that's 6000 miles round trip. That's pushing to hard for to long.

My neighbour is a senior Ford mechanic, in 2014 and 2015 the dealer refused to stock the F150 Ecoboost because it had so many problems. Blown seals, seized waste gates, seized turbos, blown head gaskets.

Really, my 2007 Escape 17b molded Fibreglass trailer weighing only 3000lbs and round aerodynamic gets 13 MPG, and that's feathering the gas.

    What are you towing?

Magnuson has kits available for other Toyota platforms. Let's communicate to them our interest in a 3rd gen TVS kit! I have already emailed them.

There was a guy recently in the buy/sell/trade section that had a TRD SC for sale. He believe it might be the last new one available, period. People seemed to believe he was right. He was selling it for $7k, I believe.

    (4) 400-450Lb Jet-Ski's plus trailer weight. So lighter than your 3,000Lb mark but the trailer is heavy. I've never tried towing the Malibu which weights 4,300Lb because it would be miserable going up Vail Pass at 10,500 Ft Elevation lol.

Not saying it's a towing machine by any means just didn't agree with your "third gen can't tow without flooring it" comment so was wondering if maybe you weren't locking out gears in S-Mode while towing and whatnot.

PS- Those 17b Trailers are nice, I'm jealous!

    Have you seen this YouTube?

After watching this, I thought these guys were clueless, but after some reading comments on the forums, maybe their not far off.

I'll probably buy a 2017 6speed manual next spring, after working in the Automotive industry for tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers, everything else is junk, the Toyotas the only game in town. I just wish the Taco had more low end torque.
