OK I was only referring to the mobile speeding cameras not the "red light" cameras. The city of Littleton removed the camera at Santa Fe and Mineral because the number accidents went UP because of people slamming to a stop when the light turned red. Red light Cameras are entirely a gray area because of a number of judgements you make when either speeding up or slowing down at a light that is changing. I am not sure they are a good idea at all. But damn take them away and we instantly go back to 5 extra cars going through the red arrow "because they can".

Speed cameras are pretty straight forward. You are either speeding or not. I have never seen one in a school zone here. I have only seen a live officer or at the least a live officers car parked out front to deter speeding. Only thing I can figure is the officer is in the school walking the halls.

I've only seen one speed van in a "school zone" even though it was a 1/2 miles behind the school and that gets everyone. There's also one I used to see getting everyone near federal and belleview. If you want to pay the fine for speeding that's fine, and obviously if I'm caught speeding and cited by an officer then I'm not gonna throw a fit. Seeing as I'm often going at least 5 over then I'm not going to willingly pay a fine if I don't have to, that's all. Mostly I'm saying it's a money game, and any other safety benefits are just a plus. This explains why they let people not pay all the time. They'll get who they can. If it was truly a safety issue then they're dropping the ball by not serving people. I can't say that's 100% of the time true, but it usually seems that way.

The problem with enforcing the photo radar is simple.
It may not be the owner of the car breaking the law.
Your car is picked up by photo radar, you get mailed a ticket, but your car was being driven by somebody else, for whatever reason. How can the owner be at fault? How can they expect you to pay a ticket for something you haven't done.

On the flip side, if somebody is borrowing your ride and they get pulled over, and personally written up, they get the ticket and you give them shit for it.

However, if the ticket comes to you via CERTIFIED mail, then you are screwed. Better lawyer up, or just pay it.

I love to pull out and block those red light runner in the middle of Littleton and Broadway. I do it 2 to 3 times a week if I'm lucky enough to be 1st in line. If you enter the left turn when my arrow turns green, you are fair game. Be prepared to hit me or stop because I'm going on green. Yes, it might be my fault if they hit me, but my argument will be very strong and I'm persuasive. My actions have caused at least 3 people to get pulled over by close by police and many middle fingers. I had one lady "Mother fuckin" me and freaking out, I responded by saying "you are a bad mother, your kids are in the car", talk about a way to shut someone up.

Game on my friends, game on

When people turn left in front of me on a red light I floor it towards them and lay on the horn. Love seeing the looks on their faces. I'd never actually hit them but they don't know that.

That intersection where people turn from Broadway northbound to Littleton westbound is really bad. People are still entering when the light is green in the Broadway southbound direction. That is when the OhFuckNo kicks in.

I grew up just south of there so I am very familiar with that particular clusterfuck of an intersection.

One time we got a photo ticket when we got back from a vacation. It was obvious that it was not us. It was our house sitter. If you read the ticket there is a section where you "nominate" the driver with their address and send it back in. About 4 weeks later our house sitter got the ticket in the mail.

That one and Bowles/Santa Fe and Mineral/ Santa Fe all cluster fuck with red light runners. Almost seems worse since before the camera were installed. But that could be pure volume now a days.

A speed van got me once in foco before I knew they were there. Dumbest look on my face lol. I paid it. I always spotted them after that though. My favorite is the people that get mad at you for slowing down and whip around you only to get flashed lol

I'm personally not a fan of intersection ones because I find more people cause accidents slamming on the brakes as soon as the light turns yellow.

So the 4.7 part still leaves the window open to serve a warrant on the person as a few above stated that happened to them. It's not worth the labor to do so but a municipality could choose to do so. Or at least that is how I am reading it.

x2 thats when accidents happen the most. Somebody isn't paying attention and you slam on your brakes for a yellow light and bam. I usually just run the yellow light if I see it

I read about a guy who continued to give the camera the finger as he hauled ass by, he got served. I think they choose who to serve with some discretion. If you live and work in a secure building being served can be difficult when the phone intercepts most interactions before they occur
