Annd I reserved a 4wd pickup, which I know they have cause I get one every time. Instead the only truck they had was this 2wd fred land yacht, not the normal 4x4 hemi rams they always have. Lame.20160927_113438.jpg

So I finally had the muffler I bought from @Unchained 5150 a year ago installed today. Not going to lie, sounds pretty close to your average WRX. Kinda of loud under throttle, but not obnoxious.

H 7.5" X W 5" X L 9.75" I have the Viar 300P, which they rate up to 35" tire, but I would recommend the 330P, which is rated for a 35" tire. The 330P fills the tires way quicker, and isn't much more money.

Oh it is! I never crank it. I don't think my ears can take it! When I turn it up the headliner rattles against the roof, all the mirrors shake, and the truck visibly vibrates. It's quite ridiculous.

I originally bought it for a Rav4, and it was ~8ft behind me. Now it's ~6in behind me. Danger close.

Really though. I've got a ridiculous personality, being a large hairy Cajun man stuck in Boston and all, but these are too much even for me.

Not that there's anything wrong with loud of course. What are you running for an amp on them?

Alpine MRV-M500. Small but powerful! Gets pretty toasty though.

I plan on keeping the amp and downsizing the subs to two low profile 8"s or 10"s.

With the output of some of the new speakers. I'm sure you can do just one nice 10" in the small cabin of your truck and still be happy.

Good point. I'll probably buy them one at a time to make sure I really need them first. The hardest part will be finding subwoofers that will fit. I previously removed my jump seats and rear center console, so I'd like to make a platform out of fabric covered plywood. The back end will rest on the storage boxes built in back there, and I'd like the subs to fit below that platform. We shall see.

I'm in the middle of collecting the rest of the parts to put a system in my truck. All I need is to order my subwoofer (10" Image Dynamics IDQ) to put into my subwoofer box behind the back seat and the wiring and that's it. I'll be ready to install

So I am going to do my brakes (Pads & Rotors) in the coming months and I was taking a beginning look at the cailpers and they look a bit rusted. I quickly googled/searched on here if there was a way to get rid of the rust and then paint the calipers black (not for show, just for longevity). I am thinking I will do this when I do the brake change since I will be removing the calipers to get the rotor off anyway and I was wondering if any of you have done this and if so, how easy/difficult it was.

Looking to hear your opinions, Thanks.

Just buy new calipers. Most places will sell them to you with a core charge. In the long run, it's a better way to go about it since you'll get all new seals, basically a fresh start again. If you just paint the old calipers, you're still stuck with old seals.

You know I have been considering that as well, just figured if they are still in good working order why spend the extra $$.
