Damn those "Tire Pro's" F'd me. So the tire should actually go on 8.5 at max. I think I remember you showing this tool before and i was messing with it also just a little bit ago. Sounds like the best way to alleviate the problem is get 17x8.5 and go with a -6 or 0 offset.

Thanks I did not know what the stock dimensions were that is very helpful.

As long as you have the clearance between wheel/tire and spindle/uca you can move it(offset/wheel width) around. This is when having the backspace dimension is helpful.

You also might want to cycle the suspension and check if it might be an issue.

Stock OR is about 4.75" backspace.

Of the two you mentioned, I'm leaning towards -6 offset; about 4.5" backspace.

If it were me, I'd be looking at 17x8, 0 offset. It's still about 4.5" backspace, but brings your outer protrusion down quite a bit more. Into the 1.5" range.

Curious; do your tires squeak like a SOB with the 2.5" of protrusion on your current setup?

The tires don't really squeek, but when on level ground and I have the wheel at full lock (the only time it doesn't rub) I can hear something metal underneath sound like its pulling and "clunking". Like maybe a Tie rod is getting over worked. I think the 9 inch wide was a terrible choice.

    Live and learn...
Do you have any abnormal tire wear on the outside tread?

Once I noticed how they rub my whole way of driving has adapted haha. The very end of the width of the tread is getting a little chipped up but not too bad. As in the outside edge.

It's when I drive into driveways that it hits the worst. Living on a budget so I don't really have the funds to buy new wheels, put em on and then hope somebody buys my other rims by the next month.

I see 17x8.5 but what is the offset of those wheels? Looks great.
