Nice! Let me know when you're headed for Gold Mountain again. I need to hit up some 4 wheel trails. I'm jonesin'. Going backwards up Jacoby Canyon's most difficult section was fun. Too bad it was due to an emergency to get my girl back due to illness.

You should come along for MJT later this month :D

I'm going to limit myself to one 'hard' trail a month now rather than every weekend lol.

Be forewarned.. Gold and MJT will be very rough in a few sections with open/open.

We'll no doubt be able to get through everything. May need some assistance here or there though. Just fyi brother:thumbsup: Respek!:fistbump:

    I'm sure they will!

He also has more clearance up front to keep a faster pace without fear of bashing a stock bumper.

I'm mainly saying it because I never got the MJT open diff warning.

I think @Sandtaco didn't exactly warn either of us with regards to the level of difficulty of MJT the first time we did it, lol. That day was a lot of fun though, truck damage and all :D

Wait, you mean I should rather drop a G or two on lockers and re-gearing (might as well since Im in there) than expensive light bars and yeti coolers? That doesn't sound like the tradition overland build way. Form before function, fellas. "braaaaapity braap braap"

You don't "need" one, but it most certainly helps. We ran into some Jeep guys first time we were there and one of them was a seasoned vet that swore all you needed was to know how to use your e-brake properly, lockers be damned lol.

As long as your with another vehicle or two that is locked then you'll be fine, might have to get a tug or two in a couple spots.

I am sure it depends on different variables.

If you can power through the sections that would hold you up, then you're fine. Clearance is probably the main concern if you don't have a locker, because you'll have to take some of the largest obstacles with speed to surpass where an open diff would get you hung up.

@Spvrtan did MJT with open diffs, but he's in a monster Tundra on 37's with plenty of clearance and power.

Sliders are a must for sure, if you don't want rocker panel damage. I somehow managed MJT the first time with no lift and no sliders, but my smaller 1st gen wheelbase helped out a lot.

Second time I did MJT, I had my sliders on and hit them pretty hard a couple times. The trail conditions change up there pretty quickly from all the traffic, so I wouldn't risk it.
