confused-5100's w/ 885's

I was looking at the toytec ultimate kit but figured I won't do any serious offroading (90/10 road/off) and was wondering if i buy the 5100's and 885's and skip the adjustable toytec springs, .... will that give me a full 3" in the front or do i still need a spacer?

is it worth the extra 2-300$ for the adjustability?

Just the 1/4" spacer from toytec. If you know you want a 3" then you dont need the adjustability.

If I recall it's not that much more right? I ran my 885's and OME shocks without the top spacer and had about 3". I fit my 285/75/16's.

This is the set up I have... without that spacer my 285 would not fit. The ride is rough and I'm looking to upgrade soon.

I ran just the 885's and 5100s (at 0) and they ran nice, rougher than stock up still nice and firm. I had about 2.25" of lift but could not clear the 285s... added the spacer and now its a bit too rough... I'm gonna upgrade but I can't decide between 6" or just getting a nice set of Icons or kings for the front.

 

Do not concur- Mine is very close to 3 inches with the 885s on my Access Cab. I believe Chris4x4 is also right about 3 inches of lift without the top plate.

OP-If you are thinking about the OME springs- I would recommend the OME shocks- They are valved to work with the OME shocks.

 

Truts me I've been looking at options until ikve turned blue in the face. I don't need the adjustability
So I figured that I'd go with an ome setup and save some coin, install myself but talking to guy at toytec and he recommend billies
Saying they were a better product however the guy at wheelers says they have done a many a warranty job for billies and very little for OME. So confusing what to get argh!

Either way I ran the lift without the spacers on my double cab and got 3".

 

ok i was just going by what the website says....i guess it depends on your truck...maybe a prerunner can get 3" without and a 4x4 needs it...not sure
