You can get an Aisin vsv, which is at least a known quality brand, for 50 bucks.

Damn. Here it is on ebay for 40 bucks. I need to order one myself. I'm just being Jewish and pulling the EFI fuse every 3 or 4 days when the MIL appears.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/400962906158

    No problemo hombre.

Also, it seems to me with Toyota EGR systems, I've wrenched on Yotas specifically for 10+ years or so now, it's not a mileage point that the EGR components start to fail. It seems more of a time or years point. I'll see low mileage egr components bite the dust from the same era as the high mileage. I've noticed it for a few years now. But anyway. If you guinea pig this vsv, let us know how it works. I'll likely buy it in 2+ weeks. I'm moving cross country here shortly. Back out to Utah. Can't wait. I miss the mountains.

That would make sense. The original is 15 years old at this point. I think I will try that one and let you know how it works out.

All of the vsv I've seen on Toyota have been Denso. But that doesn't mean I've seen them all. Lol. I'm sure Aisin is just fine to use as well. That's why I suggested it lol

Hmmmm... Unless Denso rebrands vsv made by Aisin. That's possible, I'd imagine. We do it here in manufacturing stateside, I'm sure they do it in Japan as well.
Edit: oops, I quoted myself. I meant to keep Devin on the post, because it sounds like he might have some insight on it. Oh well
