Always depends on each person and their tastes. I wasn't too excited about the G43 when I shot it, but whenever I shoot my brother's G19, its like heaven on earth. If you are looking into a pistol just to "have", the G19 wins in my book. Going to be a little more expensive out the door then a G43 (Usually), but the size and shooting capability is worth it IMO.

It just depends on what you're using it for. Since he can't conceal or even have it loaded in the car then something that is more fun to shoot makes more sense to me. The G43 is a concealed carry gun, it holds very little ammo and is super tiny. I'm not saying I don't enjoy shooting my G43, I really do like it, its just not as accurate or as soft to shoot as a larger gun.

What State is this? As I thought parties who are not of age still have to obey federal law since it overrides states laws since you have to be 21 years of age under federal law? and is a Class A misdemeanor in most States and could rise to a Class B Felony in some as well...

I shot both before buying and I will say this my paws are HUGE size 16 ring finger and the G43 was by far a better feel for me... The muscle area between my thumb and index finger would crowd the rear of the 938 as with the Glock I had more relief in that area....

I just got my Shield9 for conceal carry and holy smokes the Shield feels so good in my hands compared to the G43. Very impressed. S&W definitely got some ground on Glock in the concealed carry market IMO. I do love Glocks though, not in favor of any one brand. Just giving kudos when its due.

They only regulate FFL sales. They way the law is written here you can own handguns at 18, open carry is also legal at 18. You just have to buy it private sale (non FFL sale). You must be 21 to conceal carry and/or get a concealed carry permit (I believe there is an exception for active military and leo)

State of Mississippi one can buy a handgun at 18* as long as they are not prohibited from owning firearms.
One can also conceal carry**and open carry without a permit at 18.

*from a private party, as an FFL can't sell to anyone under 21 under federal law

** concealed carry without a permit is kind of trickilly worded

Its a little big for Pocket carry IMO but definately doable. I carry mine appendix iwb.

Keep your booger hook off the bang switch and you'll be ok
