Heated seat question

Hello all. I currently have the factory seats in my 2015 Tacoma.


I'm going to be installing caltrend I can't believe it's not leather seat covers.


I'd like to install these seat warmers.


My question is can I just install them on top of the factory seat and behind the leather seat covers? Or do I have to take the factory seat cover apart and put them underneath them? Thank you for any input.

 

I installed seat heaters right over my stock seats then put clazzio leather covers over that. No issues thus far

 

How long have you had them installed?

 

2 years. Takes a little while to heat up but I sure love them.

 

Awesome and that's no problem. I have a remote starter installed. Where did you tap into power? Last question, I promise lol

 

No problem man ask away. I bought an add-a-fuse and tapped into the fuse box on the left side of dash board. Add a fuse is the way to go. Was really quick and easy

I think I'll be going with option number three. Since you've had them have you taken your seat covers off at all? I'm a little curious as to if any residue is left on the seat from the adhesive. I guess a little masking tape would take care of that though.

 

Just did this myself, and took off the Clazzio's that were already installed. To put the Carbon Fiber seat heaters in and use the sticky stuff attached to the seat heaters and attached them the bottom of the Clazzio's. Work awesome, I grounded it to the screw under the shift bezel. Ran the power wire directly to the battery, and the relay wire to the 10A Ignition fuse under the steering wheel with an add a fuse. Works sweet, toasty buns in under 2 minutes. I bought these and mine came with different switches, plus a 5 year warranty.

I haven't pulled the covers to see if there is residue.
I like Rick's idea of sticky side up. Should work just as well.

 

That's not a bad kit but I would have to still get switches. I figure if I have the openings, I might as well use them haha. I do like the idea of a relay though.

 

Is the red button the eject? Or NOS?

 

I may do that. I don't think I would lose much heat that way.

The kit definitely comes different than shown though. Comes with a 3x3 module that the switches, and the seat heaters plug into. Then there are 3 wires and a relay that come out of that. I black ground, 1 red power, then 1 orange relay.

 

About how long does it take to heat the seats with them in "backwards"?
