That's why I put it in quotations. Normally I assume the heaters are supposed to face towards your body. If they're stuck to the seat cover wouldn't they be backwards? Or is the kit you used designed to be installed that way?

Oh ok. The only kits I've seen get installed like this.

I didn't know they made it another way so I thought they were upside down.

The heating element will heat either side, so you can stick it to either and it shouldn't effect the time at all. I have the kit from eBay with the rectangular switches and it heats really fast and gets very warm on high, the switches look oem and light up green. Everyone who rides in the truck thinks there oem and are really surprised when I say it's an eBay kit.

Thanks for the input! I can't wait to get them now, and right in time for winter.

Word of advice. Remove front seat and bring them in the house to install. Much easier especially if it's even a little cold out

Here's where mine are mounted, this is the OEM location for the trucks that came with heated seats. IMG_0898.jpg

Thank you! I did that for my back seats for install. It made it so much easier!

Awesome, glad you got it! And you're right, can't take it with you. The power does make it very convenient. There's a thread on here about adding a $5 Amazon actuator for the same result. I'm not sure how much into DIY you are but I'll link it if you're interested.

That is exactly where I plan on putting mine. I love when aftermarket installs look so factory!

I also ran the wiring under the carpet and into the center console, that's where I grounded everything. I then combined both seats power and illumination to the same fuse taps and plugged into under the dash. Everything works great and lights up when the headlights are turned on. I've had both seats running on high and no issues with blowing fuses or anything.

The same shit everyone else has.
Good thread. Ive been researching this for a while now. I really like the idea of making my truck more driver friendly. Heated seats sound like a nice creature comfort after a long cold day of hunting or fishing in the winter.

I was wondering if I could put pads between the seats and a set of aftermarket covers. Seems like I can with no issues. My covers are Coverking Neosupremes & are supposed to be heated seat compatible.

I take it that the pads have adhesive on them, correct? I wonder if the pads can just be laid between the cover and the seat and they'd stay in place? I really dont like the idea of "gluing" them to the seat fabric or the back side of the seat cover.

Any issues with the Ebay kits?

One side has adhesive strips on it, only along the outsides of the pads. They stick really well so I'm not sure if they would leave anything behind if you ever removed them. The other option is to stick them to the seat cover instead of the seat itself, then there's no issues with left over residue as it's never seen anyways.

I've had the eBay kit for about a year now and it works great, actually heats better than my wife's crosstrek with factory heated seats. I also like the dial which lets you control the heat better than just hi lo. Most eBay kits come with a 3 year warranty as well.
