    ok i keep seeing random comments about a tacoma lean what is that does the truck lean to one side or the other or something????

    the Tacoma lean is a slight lean to the drivers side.

    Then there is the cali lean to the rear. :laugh:

    Yeah for some reason it seems to be leaning to one side and OME make a 5mm spacer to put on your shock to compensate for that lean.

    yea...when you install a lift on the front end sometimes it'll have a lil lean...its usually fixed by adjusting your coil overs (if their adj.) or adding a top plate spacer :)

    I believe it's because the driver, battery, and gas tank are all on the same side.

    I notice the lean is worse in the rear of the truck. I'm wondering if the rear leaf / spring TSB will correct this as a collateral benefit? Anybody with the TSB done notice this?

    it just takes a minute to measure from your wheel center cap to the bottom of the fender flare on each side if you're concerned about it. my truck was 1/2" higher on the passenger side. :)

    OK, so here's a related question - how do you explain a lean toward the Passenger side? Ever since my frame replacement in Oct., my drivers side is about 3/4 to 1 inch taller than the pass. side., only in the rear. The front's both measure the same height, from ground, through center hub, to fender.

    i think the gov made them change things for regulations....my old '88 taco had the gas tank on the passenger's side and the exhaust was on the drivers side

    Would relocating the battery from the engine bay to the bed or one of the bed storage boxes help a decent amount or has anyone done it (DIY thread perhaps)? It'd essentially be moving 50 pounds from one corner to another.

    I relocated the battery behind rear passenger seat. I can't say that it fixed, completely, the problem but it ballance the rear better. Now the battery is compensating for approx 5-6 gallons of gas and by removing 50 lbs of the front,, I made the front a lttle bit lighter.

    If you go four whelling with your truck, you are going to see, feel, that 50 lbs off your front is a big deal.

    The battery weighs 50lbs??? I guess I'm just dense, I really don't think I'd notice a shift in weight and handling. I can't notice the difference between just myself and a passenger, and that's at least a 150lb difference.
